I've just read a bunch of replies to the homosexual in church thread and several christians have posted "Yes, so long as you aren't an active homosexual" and then they'll yank a bible verse. I'd like to ask...do you watch television? do you go to the movies? do you celebrate Christmas and Easter?

That ALWAYS troubled me when I was a sheeple, why is it that every sin is EXUSED away except homosexuality? Paul admonishes the christians NOT to worship god in any way shape or form like pagans yet most christians I know (even fundies) celebrate Christmas, Easter and Sunday worship (Sun day was 'the' day pagans worshipped the Sun God).

How can you even give people an 'if' when you are in sin yourself?

I'm an exchristian and I've specified that this question is directly to the "as long as you're not practicing homosexuality" given in the homosexual thread. I know what other Christian say, I'm referring to those who seem to put homosexuality as worse than other sins.

Christ is more likely to return than Christians making up their minds or agreeing on anything.

This question means nothing. Most christians out there will already acknowledge the fact that they, along with the REST of humanity, are sinners. I'M a sinner, but I'm also a christian. I ask for God's forgiveness, and since I'm sincere in my repentence, I can only assume that I'm forgiven. :)

What does watching television and movies have to do with going against christian nature? Last time I checked, doing that wasn't a sin.

As for the Sabbath being on "sun"day, that's just a freakish coincidence between languages. Three days after Jesus' crucifixtion was called something else to the Jewish calendar, and something else still to the roman callendar which was then adapted into the main calendar for all western civilization.

On Christmas and Easter, I celebrate the birth and ressuraction of Jesus Christ, respectively.

Why are you asking questions to try to get christians to stop believing in what they believe?

You make it a point to look down on the "sheeple", which you pride yourself on not being anymore. So . . . What are you? Are you a Christian? If so, your issue appears to be pride.

Perhaps you've forgotten that Christ washed the disciples feet, and admonished them to follow his example of servanthood.

I agree with you that Christmas and Easter aren't Christian holidays. Though the last day of the week has always been the Sabbath, the early Christians were Jews, and had prohibitions and requirements limiting their Sabbath, so they met on the first day of the week for fellowship and prayer before they began their workday.

Christians today aren't well taught from the 501(c)(3) churches that are regulated by the State as to what they can and cannot teach, preach and do, but I'm not making excuses for them. We're supposed to be "Bereans" and find out for ourselves.

As far as television, even Sky Angel is mostly fluff, but there's some good stuff too.

You do make some great points though. But you too have a timber or two in your eye.

I am a christian and i celebrate the birthday of my Lord just as i celebrate birthdays in my family, and the occasion of his resurrection is of even more reverence to me; and yeah; i keep the sabbath too, just as my Lord thought me to. Sunday is not so much convenient for me but atleast i keep it on friday as i live in a islamic country. And you know what; i watch TV and go for movies also..............

Now for your question, i do not know what you mean by pagan worship, and as far as i am concerned homosexuality is definetely a sin but not an unpardonable one. So there is still time; repent and be done with it; and also if possible spend two minutes of your time each day to close your eyes and ask God to reveal the truth; you sound so lost, Believe me, Jesus is the way and he will lead you to the truth and truth will definetely set you free from all your doubts and negetivity,.

The simple act of being a book worshipping christian is a sin worse than murder or rape. All christians are doomed to a fate worse than death...a world where other humans have the right to publicly oppose the teachings of the Jesus...a world where christians are powerless to stop higher evolved members of the race from showing the world just what a large load of crap the bible is.

hehehe...

I agree that would be like saying a divorced person cannot be in church either. Because most are sinning by being divorced and second by having relations with another other than their spouse. So we should tell them to come to church if they are not actively divorced and actively cheating on their spouses.

See that thinking is judgmental and also not acceptable in the eyes of the Lord. If a gay person wants to come to church and ask forgiveness then so be it. Whether they continue to behave that way or not. There are plenty of liars and cheaters who go to church and do not stop lying and cheating on their spouses.

So let us not judge others.

I am a Christian who attends church on Saturday (Sabbath) and does not celebrate these holidays as most people do. I am trying my best to follow the Word as it is written. I am not perfect though.
A marriage is a very holy and sacred union. I think that is why the thought of "gay marriage" disturbs so many Christians. Because people are wanting to make holy something that is NOT!

The act of homosexuality can be forgiven just as any other sin.Ask God's forgiveness, repent and turn from sin. The only sin that is unforgiveable is blasphmy against the Holy Spirit.

Ah, yes. Everything else is too inconvenient. Honoring the Sabbath? Nah, I've got things to do. Thou shalt not covet? Not important. But gays? Christians don't have to do anything physically to follow that part, just sit and whine.

Another question is: Why, when asked personally, do no Christians object to homosexuality (at least to me. I've never had anyone tell me to my face that they object), and yet there are so many people who dislike it.

All of us have sins that we have done but as a Christian you must try to combat sin in your life, that's why the "gay life-style" is not accepted because it condones serious sin, hence you get fooled thinking I have no sin and I don't have to try and fight it.
