OMG no! it's not cheesy at all!! That's a very romantic and thoughtful thing to do, and quite brave as well since it shows that you're confident enough to sing to her. Any girl would LOVE a guy to write a song for her, but by also singing to her you're going one step ahead. It's good to hear that there are still some romantic
and creative guys out there!
One note to warn you is that you should only do this to a girl who will appreciate it. I mean, if you think the girl doesn't like you, then it might seem cheesy to her but otherwise I say totally go for it!!!!

Are you a professional song writer? If the answer is yes then go for it. If the answer is no, you'll probably sound like crap and might just embarrass yourself. You may want to just do a cover and learn how to play it on the guitar. Like Ashton Kutcher in "A lot like love" that is SO romantic!

hmmm depends what kind of chick is that?if she's sentimental, feminine, emotional type then she will appreciate ur whole rendition also depends how lame the song is sang i mean if it sounds kiddy then its really beyond cheesy ;p but if its really sweet and meaningful it could be touching

Dude girls love it, even if your voice sounds like a peacock they will love it, trust me Ive tried and my voice sounds worst than an orangutan but my g/f said it was the cutest thing ever.... all you gotta do is just show that your having fun while doing it :D ...
