i try to make my dog smart, but i think it was her old owners.
they got rid of her cause "she barked too much" well dogs usually do! i think it was them who made her the stupidest creature to roam the planet.

I think all dogs can be stupid at times, my male german shepherd is a kind of special that way, but that's also what makes him my boy. He's a very sensitive dog and he makes me laugh.

I ran a puppyshop and found that terriers are one of the smartest breeds. sometimes you get a pup from a puppy mill, there are even pet shops that sell puppy mill dogs. The biggest problem is inbreeding. That will make a dog stupid for sure. If you have papers on your pup and he has a good pedigree, well then you have a dumb dog....No papers no pedigree....you have a inbreed dog. Your yorkie should be no bigger then 3 or 4 #s at the most...with yorkies smaller is better, i sold yorkies with a strong backround full of champs for over $1400.00 and i had a list of people who wanted them. Have fun with your new baby

No, it's the owner! Yorkies are very intelligent and sensitive dogs..terriers in general are known for their smartness and drive to learn new things everyday..I think you need to research your dog and learn what makes her happy..which is probably alot more exercise and interaction with her owner..barking and other obnoxious behavior is caused by boredom!

It's the owner.I have a 2 year old Yorkie that is really smart.I swear sometimes he even knows what I'm thinking. He minds better than most kids and at least once a week he'll do something to make you remark about how smart he is.My daughter has one too and my son-in-law spelled (go outside)and their Yorkie ran to the door, his comment"Oh God,now she can spell".So in my opinion stupid and Yorkie should't be used in the same sentence.

many Yorkies are super smart! It must just be your dog's lineage.
Here is what the breed info site says about Yorkies>>
The Yorkshire Terrier seems oblivious of its small size. It is ever eager for adventure and trouble. This little dog is highly energetic, brave, loyal and clever.<< http://dogbreedinfo.com/yorkshireterrier.htm

My sister has two yorkies.. They are both equally stupid but one is a pure white yorkie and It is said by the breeder that she got that yorkie from that those dogs have almost no brains and are not recommended for breeding. So yes it is a yorkie thing.

THE mixed DENTITION IN babies is a lot distinctive THAN ADULTS.

too much breeding in these animals bloodlines is the cause , sad but, true....... it's like they breed the brains and personality right out of these poor animals that are only used for other peoples profit.....grrrrr !! it's like having a child with a brother or sister, unless of course you're from the deep south... but, that's another story altogether.......

A dog is only as stupid as its owner. If you feel that way about her I feel sorry for her. She deserves a much better home.
