What are the paper work to buy a car from out-state and bring it home?

So, i live in NJ and going to MI to buy a car and drive it back to NJ. how would i get the title from him and should i pay NJ taxes or MI taxes or both. How can i get the permite to drive it back with no registeration and where can i get it?

Is this such a great deal? its a thousand miles each way and at least 4 days of your time?When purchasing the car, be sure the seller has the title. When cash passes hands so should the title. most states have a 3 day registration just so you can do what you need to do,Get it at the local DMV. If car is financed, go to the finance company and do the transaction there
