Real simple like... "God is a Spirit with no part's or passions. Jesus was God in Physical form sent to perfect...." All that BS....

The Symbolum Apostolorum was developed between the second and ninth centuries. It is the most popular creed used in worship by Western Christians. Its central doctrines are those of the Trinity and God the Creator.

Legend has it that the Apostles wrote this creed on the tenth day after Christ's ascension into heaven. That is not the case, though the name stuck. However, each of the doctrines found in the creed can be traced to statements current in the apostolic period. The earliest written version of the creed is perhaps the Interrogatory Creed of Hippolytus (ca. A.D. 215). The current form is first found in the writings of Caesarius of Arles (d 542).

The creed was apparently used as a summary of Christian doctrine for baptismal candidates in the churches of Rome. Hence it is also known as The Roman Symbol. As in Hippolytus' version it was given in question and answer format with the baptismal candidates answering in the affirmative that they believed each statement.

Greek, Latin, and English versions of the Apostles Creed are found here:

I promise not to call your beliefs BS, if you dont tell me what YOU THINK my beliefs are. Demonstrate how moral and humanitarian and civilized you atheists THINK YOU ARE without God as you perpetually stomp all over my freedom to be a Christian with your religious intolerance and sadistic remarks.

Being a grown-up does NOT mean you can't be taught.

Do you know why there was a need to form creed? To be a Christian is be a person Christ wants us to be, meaning, following His commandments found in the Bible. Creed are just statement of belief gathered from what the Bible teaches(for the Christian faith at least). If you would have them written here, I'm not sure it won't become burdensome for SOME people to read. It consist of what we believe about God, Christ, life, and the future of believers.

I am a Holy Spirit-filled Christian, who believes that God the Father is our creator.

I live my life in full relationship with Christ and in my body "the temple" I worship God at his throne, I invite the Holy Spirit to dwell in me and around me daily so comfort and guide me. I am presently totally fulfilled and feel in my heart that I am pure because of Christ's cleansing and healing power,.....this does not mean that I do not make mistakes or sin,....it just means that I try not to and when I do I know without a doubt that I am forgiven and live my life in no shame. I worship Jesus and Yehweh daily on my knees and in singing and dance all my worship and prayer is inspired by the Holy spirit. The Trinity is my All......life without them was horrible, selfish and lonely ....I was in a constant search for Love in all the wrong places and found that it was simply there all along in Jesus. If I keep my sights set on heavenly things then the earthly things don't have power over me.

God bless you and much Love, I hope you find the answer you are looking for......God's spirit lives in you,...you only need to ignite it by receiving Jesus' gift of relationship, eternal life and forgiveness,.......by doing so the Holy spirit has place to transform your life into Supernatural bliss even when life disappoints you.

I hope to see you there in Heaven.

There is more than one christian creed, depending on I believe denomination. Some of the elements in those creeds. The trinity God three in one Holy Spirit, and God the Father and Jesus the son, all actually being one personage. This has been disagreed upon for centuries and I do not see how it is important but many do. It can not be proven in an indisputable way by scripture.
another part of christian creeds Has to do with salvation being a permanent change (once saved always saved) or if people who get saved (meaning justified and reconciled) can fall back into an unreconciled state. This is a foolish disagreement in that the one says if a person backslides he was never saved so the cure is saying a sinners prayer and becoming saved, and the cure for backsliding or losing salvation is to say the sinners prayer and once more attain reconciliation. We make such a halabalew over words.
I myself can not see how proving the trinity doctrine makes a differance.

another creed item is the divinity of Jesus. Was He God or not. Some people who believe what Jesus said believe others who believe what Jesus said are a cult because they disagree on this point. My own opinion neither Jesus nor God is going to judge on this specificity of this concept with regards to a persons justification and reconciliation. Many who love God and Jesus be they one or 3 or some other way are connected or not connected all discussed in mere words which anyone who has experienced actual justification and reconciliation knows that the experience can not be explained in words, knows that God 3 or 1, He or they are not all that interested in language or symantics. The experience is a coming to accept God and erase as much separation between He and me as I can possibly do now (and hopefully growing more and more) in the future. See how words really are not the greatest when talking about being God's friend.

Also Mary"s virginity is a part of many creeds. There are those who believe that word in prophesy in the OT means a young woman, and those who believe in immaculate conception. Creed in or out.

This kind of creed belief is an effort to separate the friends of God and I frankly see that it is working.

Here is my creed. If you believe that God the creator, wants you to be His friend and you want to be His and have talked to God with a pure heart and asked to be God's friend (being willing to abandon your own will knowing it to be in error), and do not wish to oppose His will either for you or us, and are willing to change your will to match His will on a daily growing together basis as He is revealed to you, then I accept that you are walking in a state of grace (unmerited favor) and wish to know you love you and wish the best for you and your future endeavers to know and be God's friend, and if at any point you should fall because of your weakness and the environment you live in, I will do what I can to restore you to a state of assurance that you walk in God's grace whether or not during your period of pride, you walked in grace, and I respect your right to decide you do not want to be Gods friend. I think that would be pretty stupid but I assume God wants only friends who want Him as a friend.

My guess all lovers of God can agree on this creed and therefor are to some degree in one accord. I might add something at some point as I grow closer to God.

I see while I wrote you got the actual creeds word for word of some groups who believe, as far as I cansee they are all the common creeds of christian churches, and leave out some of the separation types of jargon, I applaud their referance work. and I agree that BS idea you expressed was a bad and unnecessary statement.

To long to type a detailed answer but all your answers can be found in a copy of Luther's Small Catechism. You can find a copy at your Public Library. In short GOD THE FATHER and GOD THE SON,and GOD THE SPIRIT are all of the same essence. As far as creation the Father created the Son spoke (The Word)them into existance and the Spirit hovered over creation as a protector. Im a Lutheran. My parents raised me in the church so I confessed my thust in Christ at an early age. I have not been disapointed.
The God Head is an essence of co-equals.All worthy of Praise and Glory.God the Father is just that a loving parent who only wants the best for us.Just as your earthy parents expressed thier love with your creation God created humanity out of love. HE knew from the begining that we wouldn't like playning by the rules. He can not go back on his word but he can not be in the presence of sin.
Just like your sibbling being punnished for something you did,Jesus took the rap for all of humanity. When he left this demention the Holy
Spirit remained as our comforter. With out understanding the basics of Judisum its hard to explain how Christ gives us a direct line to the Father. The Hebrews were the keeper of the history of how God want things doneand what happened when humanity disobeyed.
When you accept Christ as your Lord and Saviour you make a choice to set aside the ways of the world. All the negitive things like pride, revenge, gossip, and replace them with the will of the Spirit, peace, love, and concern for your fellow man. You wouldn't have a deep understanding with out study. Find yourself a Bible Baised Fellowship and sit and listen. You don't need to know the entire bible to be saved
You just have to put one foot in front of the other and the Spirit will lead you. God Speed
Let me know if you want to talk after you read Luther's book.

God is a physical person because we were made in his image. He sent Jesus Christ, his son, to die for everyone that we might be saved. But we also have to do our part. then the holy trinity is finished off with the Holy Ghost who is a spirit. All are seperate beings, but can speak for one another.
you probably shouldn't call it all bs.

"i believe in God the father almighty creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord. Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under pontius pilate, was crucified died, and was buried. Who descended into hell (purgatory), the third day rose again from the dead he ascended into heaven and sittith at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy Catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, resurrection of the body and life everlasting, amen." the apostles creed which states the beliefs of a traditional Roman Catholic.

I am Christian- a follower of the teachings of Jesus Christ as written in the Holy Bible. I believe that there is only one true God, who created the universe and all that is in it. God sent his only son, Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, and perfect in all ways, to die on the cross for the sins of the world so that we all might be saved from enternal death and damnation. Jesus Christ rose from the grave three days later to show the world that he had conqured death and damnation and therefore all who believe in Him would be granted an enternal place in Heaven.

I put down some definitions for you so you will fully understand everything I have written above and why Christianity is so important to me and my afterlife...

:)
Best Wishes...

Let me think about that generalization, and get back to you...

Ok, done praying for you. I hope that you will meet a Christian who will take the time to explain to you what they believe, and that you will be humble enough to listen without prejudice. Some who call themselves Christian have no idea what exactly they believe, so I'll agree with your point, but not your attitude.

I'll tell you what I believe, if you will drop the condescending and talk to people like they are people. However, to do so now would only validate your perspective, and make you more arrogant than you are now...

I have a good idea. I'm not Christian, but because your question is maddeningly broad, why don't you add in what YOUR creed is beneath your question so that answerers have a context with which to answer your question. They will be able to submit an answer that is diametrically opposed to yours, for instance, and then you all can be on your merry ways.
