I have been talking to this guy for about a month on the phone (we met this summer and live in different states). Besides our phone conversations, we have only been together in person two days this summer when we initially met. I really like talking to him and liked him a lot when we were together, but he is starting to freak me out by saying things like "I want to give you all of my love" and calls me "my love." I am not used to hearing things like this and I don't know whether to run or just embrace it? Is this stuff weird? Oh yeah, he is latin, if that changes things for anyone.

After a month, he seems to be coming on a little strong, but Latin men are much more expressive in their feelings...my sister went Mexico and said they ALWAYS say what they're thinking, without worrying about what others will think. Maybe he genuinely feels that he loves you, in which case, you're lucky.

But if you're uncomfortable you should explain to him that you would prefer to take things more slowly and get to know each other better before making any kind of serious long term committment.

Okay...I am a little biased. I met and married my husband in little over a month. So, I believe that someone can fall hard in a short amount of time. I think you should enjoy the pretty words. Odds are that you guys wont be together for too much longer anyway. The whole long distance thing can wreak havoc on a relationship.

What are your future intentions toward him? Have the two of you talked about getting together in the future? If you are talking about meeting up again, then he may be picturing a rosy future with you. He obviously likes you for you if all you have been doing is talking. It is not weird. It is kind of like on-line dating. The question is, is he making you uncomfortable, or are you uncomfortable because it is getting more serious? Either way, if you are uncomfortable, you should consider telling him how you feel, and possibly ending the relationship.

oh yes girl, him being Latin does change it. Not meaning to stereotype here, but I also, am going though something similar. A Latin man I know, which speaks no English, so he barely knows me, calls me his "amor" and so on...LOL. He is totally irresistible and charming and I believe that may be the case with this guy. I don't know, I find it weird if a white guy does it (I'm white btw) but if a Latin guy does it, I just consider it his culture and I think it's cute. haha. I don't know, I'm not prejudice or anything, but just be careful he doesn't just want sex, but if y'all live far away..that shouldn't be an issue! :) GOOD LUCK!! God bless!!

Hm....him being latin may make him more lenient with those terms...but he is wayyy too comfortable throwing the big L word around. If you live in two different states, how serious can your relationship ever really be in reality? It's fine to be interested....but he doesn't need to feign love...you should clarify your feelings on that. And if he's weird about it...just drop him.

uh huh.

ok some people may say there is sucha thing a love at first sight. but nah-ah. i dun tink so. i know exactly how u feel. i am not a person who liked to hear mushy, romantic stuffs said to me.

it somehow just make my hair stand on end! hahx.

take things one day at a time. u two just met recently. u dun even know much about him right.

mayb u could gently tell him that it's too fast to be talking in the kinda mushy language.

anyway, good luck. :)

Well I can't say much because I fell for my guy in 5 days and we live in different countries! But we are going on three years and look forward to a bright future together. Go slow, don't let your heart rule your head and be careful.

Latin or Mexican? If he's mexican he might just want to get citizenship in the US, so he wants to marry anybody. Not that all mexicans are like that but some are. How old are you? How old is he? Make sure hes not a lot older than you.

He's probably just saying he has feelings for you.
Maybe he's not expressing his affection in a way that you are accustomed to, & that's what causes your discomfort.
Try expressing the way you feel for him in your own words, & then hopefully he will pick up on your cues & adjust his rhetoric.
At least he's not trying to engage in phone sex with you. Then I'd run!
Take it slow & be safe!
