this is going to sound crazy but I bought my yorkie for $1,800. When i went to the breeder, he came running out (he practically picked us) and I was so smitten that I took out my check book and wrote the check right there and then and never looked back since. i know, people roll their eyes when I tell them but i love my yorkie to death and would do it again in a heart beat...although I do joke with him sometimes saying "Charlie, I want a full refund with interest too" and then i kiss his nose and say "just kidding". then my husband and I joke that we're gonna sell him on e bay and then we laugh knowing how much we love him and how that would NEVER HAPPEN. he is a cutie by the way...hehehe
oh and females go for even higer...starting at $2000. I wanted a male yorkie though, even though I put bows in his hair and feel like buying him dresses sometimes. everyone thinks he's a girl and i tell them that the's metrosexual!!!

Well as I see it there's really no limit I would pay to have what dogs give(love total devotion). If it came down to spending $500 vs $25 just to have a dog for a pet, I would spend the $25. I show though which is a totally different game. I think the most I would spend for a good quality dog or bltch would have to be around $25000. But that would have to be a very decent bloodline and a BIS dog at that. I would never spend that for a puppy. The most I would spend for a show quality puppy would be around $5000-8000.

I will not ever pay for a dog. It is rediculous about this whole pure breed and such. A dog is a dog. If you want a dog, find a puppy for free in the newspaper. That or hit up the pound, they will get you a dog. With the pound you may have to pay a few minor fees, to save the poor thing from living in a cage is ok.
I know of well over 7 dogs that all need homes. If you live in california I could get you a dog for free im sure. My cousin is a apprentice vet and she loves giving dogs away.

It all depends on if the dog is what you want. I spend $250.00 on a full breed boxer. They were selling them for $500.00 but because they had her for 3 extra months they sold her to me for 1/2 price. I would have spent the whole amount on her because she is so great. But if you want a full breed dog make shore that both of the parents are registered with AKC because around the area I live there are allot of Amish and they actually have there own kind registration and they are not full blood.. So make shore you ask to see the papers.

If you want a well bred dog you have to spend some money. It also depends what you want the dog for, If you want to show it then you will have to pay for a nice one. As a pet, I think its absurd to pay more than $1000 tops. For that price it better be a nice one with papers.

At some point I want a long haired white chihuahua and I will pay what is asked. I want a beautiful girl and I plan to name her Marilynn Monroe. My husband thinks I am a nut and I know there is sure to be an affirmation of that in this category....but ,I can just picture her. Between 600 and 1200 is what I am thinking. Just a regulation size regular chihuahua.

I wouldn't spend money buying a dog. There are too many out there that people aren't trying to make a buck off of and are trying to place them in good homes.

For a well bred Boston Terrier $1,200 or more
For a well bred American Staffordshire Terrier or Staffordshire Bull Terrier, probably between $600 and $1,000.
Otherwise I would adopt from a shelter or rescue and it would be between $75 and $250.
I would never pay anything for one of those designer dog mutts.

I ran a puppy shop, i had pups from $300.00 a older pup over 4 months old to $2700.00 english bulldog. Its what you can afford. MAKE SURE you get papers a pedigree that goes back 5 generations...thats the only proof oof no inbreeding. You should get the pup with a shot record. The breeder always takes care of the shots up until 8 weeks...minimum time to lave mom. dont take a pup under 8 weeks
