Seriously, I've watch golf since Arnold Palmer still playing, and Nicklaus in his prime time. Remembering coming back from a game and watched Faldo against the Shark in a master that Nick won. These games thrill me any time until there was Tiger Woods. Tiger makes super bowl and Yankee become boring to me.
Then, when others play golf with out Tiger, it's also a boredom now. Except of course LPGA, these days watch LPGA, it more fun&sexy than watching underwear fashion shows.

Boring on TV not playing. I will agree if you asked people who play golf if they ever thought they would before they tired it they would say no. THe thing is once you try it you like it, Maybe you will be lucky enough to have that happen. Now just because we play golf does not mean we watch it on TV. I may watch it twice a year. 40% of the people who watch golf on TV do not play.

It is unfortunate that you do not understand the intricacies of the game. Your opponent is Mother Nature, the elements. You can achieve a zen like state while playing golf.Your greatest struggle of the game is the internal battle with yourself. Golf can be sedate, meditative but also exhilarating when you hit a pure shot.
Try playing and then get back to me.Do not let the golf coverage on tv throw you off.

At least it's better than NASCAR. How boring can that be? You do nothing but watch a bunch of cars circle around a track all day. How fun can that be? Golf takes more than that. It takes not only strategy but skill as well. I suppose most people play in hopes of making a great shot.

Play it once on a day when the golf course isn't busy. Spend some time analyzing your shots. You may just love it and not even know it. Its like Nascar, go to one race and you will be hooked.

i only sit & watch 4 short period to examine the skills of the pro. golf does seem boring to a 3rd party. for me its the hardest game skill i'm trying to master.
golf is in getting a small hitting area (clubface), far from your hands (long shaft), swinging from a distance above your head & down to your feet to the smallest ball in sport.
that's why for some is too hard & for us, golfers who may have the occasional frustations, take it as a challenge & what a challenge it is.
