O/S clubs make a huge difference, they provide a larger sweet spot for golfers that aren't good yet. The reason good players don't use them is because smaller clubs are easier to work the ball with, slice or hooking it on will.

Yes, it would drop you to a 15 handicapper without a doubt. It's the bad shots that they improve the most, not the good ones. You will add at least 20 yards on the good ones going from a wood driver to one of the latest, but it is the 70 and 80 on the bad hits that also end up in the fairway that will drop your score, Same can be said for the irons.

The oversize golf club gives you a bigger sweetspot. Your good shots will not go as far as the good shots with a club that has a smaller sweet spot, but you will hit more good shots with the bigger sweet spot and you bad shot will not be as bad.

oversized heads are more forgiving

when you were young did you play wiffle ball? when you were new at this game the bat that came with it was pretty thin, so it was difficult to hit, now try it with a bat that is 3-4 times wider. you can't miss.

most club are oversized anyway
