I've been dating/talking to this guy for about 2.5 months. I live with my parents, so in the past, they have always met any guy I've dated because they come to my house to pick me up. This guy absolutely refuses to meet my parents and when asked he says that he doesn't like to meet parents it's because it's different for a guy to meet a girl's parents because he knows how he'll feel when he has a daughter and she brings home a guy. Is he just not that into me and making excuses or is this a common theme with guys?

Sorry to say but I guess his just not that serious with you. IF he is he would love to know more about you by meeting up with your family. I guess its high time to talk things over with this guy whats his intentions really are while its still early.

Actually, I think I would hide my girlfriend and boyfriend status to the parents but I wouldn't mind meeting her parents though. The reason being is that I do not want her parents to know that I have a very big attraction to their daughter and currently dating her.

Hey, on my first date, my boyfriend met my parents. Don't you find it strange that your boyfriend absolutely refuses to meet with your parents? What is he afraid of? That was a poor excuse he provided and frankly I am inclined to believe that he isn't that much into you.

My true love wouldn't meet my parents, he refused, later I found out why is because he didn't want me to judge him based upon what my parents thought, he wanted me to judge him based on what I thought. Also, kind of a power trip he used to let my father know that he wasn't scared of him and that his opinion, that is my fathers opinion ment nothing to him. Men are kind of like animals. Sometimes they just have to prove their masculinity. If he won't meet your father, it could mean, he doesn't want you to belong to your father anymore, now maybe he ants you to belong to him. Just could be, or at least thats what it was in my situation, couldn't say for sure in yours.

I want to tell you that he is just afraid of commitment, and that he can get over it, but in all truth, it sounds like he is just not all that into you. His excuse sounds very made up.

it could be he's had a past bad experience with parents. sometimes parents over judge the possible future in law. or that it means commitment to him. it could be possible that he does imagine that in his own mind
