The realities sink in around this time. Love as you have always known it gets redefined. What you always thought - that love is about the heart and not about looks, age, or other factors takes a beating. 99% of young women genuinely do not consider a man above 40 as a marriage prospect. Though if a woman gives you a chance, she could be well rewarded. Older men usually have more to offer as they are able to regard women as women should be regarded.
Unfortunately for you, in this materialistic day and age, looks are primary opening doors to a relationship. And young women don't usually like to be associated with older men when it comes to romance (unless of course money is involed). It is almost as if he is less of a man. There are, however, a minority of contented women who are totally happy in relationships with older men as older men tend to reflect the maturity and sensitivity younger men lack.
Turning 40 is also a great time for a man. Time to take stock of your life till now, and be happy that you have come of age. Yes, in my book you have come of age only when you understand more of life and how it unfolds. This does not happen when you are any younger for a man. Having lived 40 years is a blessing even if the young do not think so. After all it is not guarenteed that any young person will live till 40. So it is an achievement worth celebrating.
So in brief, life at 40 offers some choices. Consider yourself an expired product when it comes to relationships or begin now to engage in relationships that finally seem appropriate for you after all the youthful mistakes about relationships you may have made.
Even if you are already married, rekindle the flame of your love by travelling with your spouse. You are likely now to be able to afford that.
It is also a time for you to discover the greater meaning of life. You are more likely to be receptive to the joy and peace that eluded you when you were young. It is a great time to read and learn about things that uplift you. And finally you will defined love as it is, and that can only be done at some point into the 40s or later.
So Life may be loney or fulfilling for a such a man - it all depends on what he looks at when he states his age. -"OLD"? or "MAN"?

Not really!
All you have to do is take a walk and talk to at least 12 other souls you meet along the way.
Remember, you are only 6 degrees away from knowing every soul on our planet!
I am 60+ and I know at least one soul on every Continent on our planet.
Have fun but be safe!

No--it shouldn't be. If you want to meet people, then you have to get out there where the action is and make friends.
