100lbs in 3 months is unreasonable, unless you get that gastric bypass stuff. I lost 50lbs in about 5 months (10lbs a month, 2.5 lbs per week, about). I cut out all fast food, fried food and carbonated drinks. I also switched from sugar to artificial sweeteners. I ate 5 or 6 small meals a day. And by small meals I mean an orange and a granola bar or skinless chicken breast and lots of veggies. I also drank at least 5 or 6 glasses of water a day.

As for exercise, I ran about 30 minutes every other day. I also did sit-ups and lifted weights for 10 minutes a day. Like anything, it does not happen overnight. Good luck, but be patient and don't try any fad diets. They just don't work for most people.

Aerobic exercise is the best for weight loss. If you burn about 100 calories every 10 minutes (sort of typical), it will take you 300 minutes (5 hours) of exercise to burn a pound of fat. To get rid of 100 pounds, you will have to do about 500 hours of aerobic exercise (assuming you make no changes to your diet). In 3 months, that's about 5 hours worth a day.

On the other hand, your body will naturally burn off about 2/3 pound per day without doing anything out of the ordinary. If you stopped eating completely, you would lose 100 pounds in about 5 months.

Neither of these is realistic. If you cut your intake by half and work out 2 hours a day, you'll probably make it.

I recently lost 40 lbs. in two months and kept it off. I'm sorry to say but the best that I think you can do is 60lbs in three months and stay healthy. I would do one hour and 15 min. of aerobic exercise early in the morning before you eat. This will cause your body to attack fat first.

The trick is to burn more calories than you take in.

One more weight loss trick is to lift weights and build muscle. The more muscle you have the more calories and fat you will burn.

I can give you more advice if you want to email me.

I don't think that there is a *healthy* way to lose 100lbs in 3 months. Take it slow or you'll likely end up getting hurt.

Healthy weight loss tips

* Take one pound at a time
Don’t get overwhelmed by how much weight you need to lose. Try to remember that "losing 15 pounds in two weeks" is nothing to celebrate. It is important to realize that the more quickly weight is lost, the more likely the loss is coming from water and muscle, not fat.

Since muscle tissue is critical in keeping our metabolism elevated, losing it actually leads to a decrease in the amount of calories we can each day without gaining weight.

Fat loss is best achieved when weight is lost slowly. Strive for a weight loss of no more than 3-4 pounds per week. One pound of weight is equivalent to 3500 calories.

* Set Reachable Goals
For instance, if you know you need to get more exercise, begin with a manageable goal of, say, walking 10 minutes a day that you know you can achieve. Then build your self-esteem by achieving the small goals you set yourself.

The same logic applies for losing weight.

* Stay off the scales
Don’t get discouraged when your progress seems to be slow according to your bathroom scales. They do not provide a true measure of what is going on with the body.

If exercise levels are adequate (5-7 days a week), you may be putting on muscle but losing fat, thus losing inches even if you are not losing pounds. It's always a good idea to do several body measurements to have a second objective way to monitor progress.

* Stay focused on being healthy, not thin
# Many people become more successful at long term weight loss when their motive changes from wanting to be thinner to wanting to be healthier. Change your mindset to think about selecting foods that will help your body's health rather than worrying about foods that will affect your body's weight. The Food Pyramid offers a basic outline of the types and amounts of food you should eat each day to give your body the nutrients it needs for optimal health.

* Fat Free?
We've known for some time that limiting high fat foods in the diet can be helpful with weight loss. That's because fats pack in 9 calories per gram compared to only 4 calories per gram from proteins or carbohydrates. To many, the message to limit fats implied an endorsement to eat unlimited amounts of fat-free products. Just to clarify, fat-free foods have calories too. In some cases fat-free foods have as many calories as their fat laden counterparts. If you eat more calories than your body uses, you will gain weight. Eating less fat will help you to lose weight. Eating less fat and replacing it with excessive amounts of fat-free products will not.

* Drink plenty of water
Drink eight glasses a day. Water is a natural appetite-suppressant. Nettle tea is a great weight-loss tea as it supports metabolism and has diuretic properties.

* Reward yourself
# Each time you reach a goal, such as losing 5 pounds, reward yourself with a gift or a massage.

* Seek help if you need it
# A big key in long term weight control comes from receiving encouragement and support from others. Find a friend to lose weight with or you can check to see if groups such as Weight Watchers, or eDiets offer programs and resources in your area by clicking the links. You may also wish to check with your local hospital to see if their registered dietician conducts group weight loss programs.

* Watch your portions
With the advent of "supersize" meals and increasingly huge portions at restaurants, our concept of normal serving sizes is a distant memory. Be mindful of the amounts of food you consume at a sitting. When necessary, divide your food in half and ask for a take home bag. It is all too easy to be a "plate cleaner" even when served enormous portions. Learn to pay attention to your hunger level and stop eating when you feel comfortably full, not stuffed.

* Eat your food slowly
Did you ever notice that thin people take an awfully long time to eat their food? Eating slowly is one method that can help take off pounds. That's because from the time you begin eating it takes the brain 20 minutes to start signaling feelings of fullness. Fast eaters often eat beyond their true level of fullness before the 20 minute signal has had a chance to set in. The amount of calories consumed before you begin to feel full can vary significantly depending on how quickly you eat. So slow down, take smaller bites and enjoy your food.

im sorry, that would be impossible. you cannot lose more than 1 to 2 pounds a week. THAT IS SAFE...anything more than that and you would be killing your own body. you would get sickly and feel horrible and actually be STARVING YOURSELF TO DEATH.
i would advice running for like an hour in the morning and then go walking or jogging for another hour or two in the evening. in between meals do some sit ups and stretches and drink lots of water. make sure you do get three small meals a day though. just drink water instead of anything else and eat only 3 small meals with fruit and water in between meals to keep you hydrated. you have to actually eat some foods to lose weight, otherwise your body "hoards" all your fat and food and wont let you lose wieght at all. i suggest eating alot of oatmeal, strawberries, apples, (bannanas for patasiumn in case you get leg cramps) oranges, drink lots of green tea, cut out all the sugar in your diet and only eat sweetner substatutes like "sweet in low" and "splenda". cut out all the butter and grease and bread, unless its whole wheat bread and only two to three slices per day. also eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches because the peanut butter helps you lose weight too. its totally nothing but protien, and anything with protien in it, pushes the fat right out of your body so that theres more room for muscle. muslce feeds off of protein to grow. so you will lose body fat and tone up your muscles and look great. also cut out pasta and rice and potatoes (unless they are sweet-potatoes) because sweet-potatoes are low in carbs and fat unlike white potatoes.
eat lots of green vegetables and lettuce, tomatoes, and carrots....with low fat dressing. cut out all mayonaise but you can have mustard and ketchup (they are both really low fat) only eat about 1,500 calories a day. count your calories and eat lots of fruit and drink water in its place. excersice everyday and you should lose 1 to 2 pounds a week easy. cut out all fast food unless its sub-way or something with soup and salad with low fat salad dressing. you can also have baked chicken, and very lean ground beef. but i would try not to eat any beef and just stick with chicken because beef has more fat than baked or grilled chicken. this wont be easy to eat right, but if you can change the way you eat now....you will always be thin once you lose this wieght and you will live longer and feel better and look better. i would suggest if you have the time and money to spend go to bally's total fitness and hire a personal trainer to help you. they can explain to you exactly what you need to be doing each day to lose the maximum amount of weight as healthy and as fast as possible. they are trained to push your body to its limits yet still keep you healthy. you need a friend that will keep you motivated and help you with your excersice and eating right rutiene each day. you should ask your best friend to help you or go with you to work out or to have a "health smart dinner together" it will help keep you on the right track to doing the right stuff each day. also look online for diet tips and inspirational stories. join a yahoo group for people trying to do the same thing....theres lots of them to chose from. check out low carb recipes online and look for a cook book for low carb and low calorie diets. buy a blender and blend up fruit drinks for you to drink each day instead of having a real meal...that will help too. eating alot of soups and drinking fruit smoothies with a sugar substitute will help you lose alot of wieght as well. good luck.
