IMHO, yes, in a way they are...because without hearing about, let alone reading each and every religious text written since the beginning of time( claiming that within their very pages is "the" truth of god)...they outright reject all the other religiions of the world and hence are ATHEISTS concerning other gods.

Atheist may be too strong of word but they do reject other gods outright and feel no need to justify it other than they 'believe' in theirs. Then many (especially fundies) turn around and bash rejectors of their god by calling them, sinners and God-haters, etc. for not believing in their religious version of god...is that not blatant hypocrisy at it's finest?

Christians, if I were to use the same jargon you do on those who reject your god, then let me show you how utterly INSANE it is to utter the following: Because you reject Aman-Ra, you hate God, you are a sinner, you rely on mans ways and not Gods! You are probably laughing me off, no? Now you know why I reject yours.

You first need to look up what the term atheist really means,, because you dont really know.. and second. Christianity is different from every other religion in this world. There is ONE Main message throughout the Bible and that is- You Need A Savior..If you practice proper hermenuetics you would know that every one (every human) is a sinner. not one single person is good enough to ever enter into heaven by their own merit or works. You can never earn that. It's a gift , and to recieve that gift you must acknowlege that you are a sinner and need to be forgiven you must repent of your sins and truly believe that Jesus paid your fine for your sins. He took you punishment, your place, on the cross and paid YOUR fine and Everyone's fine once and for all. God is loving but also a Just and Holy God and cannot allow sin or unholyness into heaven. There for, if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and declare him as your personal Lord and Savior then You are cleansed by the Blood of the Lamb, Jesus covers your sins, they are erased forever. It's a gift from God that no one really deserves and you can never earn it... Very different from any other religion. You can ONLY rely upon the Lord to forgive you and to save you from eternal suffering. Because thats what we ALL deserve!

I do not call people a sinner just because they reject God. I tell everyone that they are sinners. Christian and non Christian. EVERYONE is a sinner. EVERYONE. There was only one person on this earth who never sinned and that was Jesus Christ. Never, ever, ever would I call someone a God hater. If you choose not to accept what I believe that is your choice. How can I possibly call you a hater of something you do not understand nor believe in????

Just because you reject my God, does not mean I label you as an atheist. If you tell me you are an atheist, only then will I call you one.. Until then, I would just label you as a non believer of Jesus Christ.

The Collapse of Atheism

From the theories of Charles Darwin or Sigmund Freud, to the fall of communism or the hippie dream, see how the atheist dogma falls at the dawn of the 21st century.

I don't need the teachings of any book to feel that there is a Living God,.....I have a relationship that was found by me calling to the Creator who I knew had the power to change my circumstances, and it just so happened that he also fulfilled me in every other way that I did not even know was possible....it was later that I began to read the Bible just so I could understand my God, I wanted to get to know him better.....I knew that he knew me but I did not know about him and what his desires and ways were.....I am blessed when I read the scriptures because the holy spirit comes to me empowering me and comforting me,...there is no other power higher than that,.....I know this from experience with many studies of religions and philosophies,.......the Trinity is the Source!

I am sorry if people have judged you for your beliefs,...it is not the job of a christian to judge a non-believer,.....it is our job to introduce Jesus and encourage you to be part of his family and that is all.......peace to you my friend.

You're a very confused individual.

I am not a Christian because I was born one or raised one.

I'm a Christian because I intellectually arrived at various inescapable conclusions.

Formerly I was an empiricist. I Now understand that there are things that exist that we cannot perceive. I was forced to abandon my philosophical position in favor of one that allowed aspects of reality to exist beyond my capability to comprehend them.

I still seek to know and understand truth, regardless of where it takes me.

Unlike atheists, my major in college was science. Today there is "fad science", like evolution, and there is science based on the scientific method, that being to test a theory by means of controlled experimentation to determine fact.

Every TRUE scientific indicator concludes the earth is not "millions of years old". I know you don't like that and want it not to be, but I choose to be honest and accept reality.

I recommend you shake off the facade and evaluate the facts in an objective fashion and accept whatever conclusions arise?

The answer to this implies that the questioner and the answerer mean the same thing for the word "athiest" . If it means some one who does not believe in a specific god -yes. But if it means that there is some thing which is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniescent then no one is an athiest.

"Christianity" does not have a monopoly on truth. There is something of God in all people of all faiths. True religion comes from within as we "follow the light in us".

Jesus happened to be following the light more than anyone else, so it makes sense to follow him.

Okay, I do get your point and can see why these types of statements are offensive to you.

But where we will disagree is what you are missing about the christian religion. Now we are a pretty diverse group of beliefs, but where our hearts are is that when we read the Bible, it comes alive to us. For instance, I sense that God is sharing something with me out of his word. i don't get that from reading other books, including information on other religions.

Yeah, the old "I just believe in one less God than you do" - but, give them a break, depending on where and around whom you grow up, subtle brainwashing can convince you that you're running TOWARDS something true, not away from things that are false. And, it's no argument against those who claim to have had specific religious experiences. But, keep on plugging, I'm on your side =)

Atheist => A + Theos => No God (from the Greek).

Since Christians BELIEVE in God (and Jesus as His Son) the answer (regardless of your belief system) is "No."
