It shouldn't. To me, it's a great, liberating feeling.

No God? Says who? You feel liberated because.............. . Liberated because you might have no one to answer to? Liberated because those unfair ten commandments don't have to be followed? Liberated because stealing isn't all that bad a thing to do Liberated because you can be like those lucky people that live in nations where worship is prohibited..They don't have that freedom...they are liberated from it. Yes, no God would scare me. If no God existed then there is nothing better to look froward to If no, God then this is as good as it gets. No God? Then this world and everything in it (yourself included) all happened by accident. But there IS a God. And I don't think He likes what He sees going on in the world either. The liberating feeling that there is no god doesn't need to be pondered too long because it's fruitless and just not true. Be fair about it. Don't just go on your own opinion Read the Bible, talk to a major denomination minister and see the other side of the coin BEFORE passing judgment. No problem can be fully solved or answered without all the information. See the whole picture. Yes, there is a God and that is a liberating feeling because that God liberates us from sin and offers us eternal life.

I have thought about death and the truth it can bring to the surface in terms of the existence of God. If I believe in God and he does not exist then I will have the same end as any other human; my body will become nutrients for the plants around my grave. However, if God does exist and his claims in the Bible are true, then I will have a different yet fantastic end than most; all those who did not follow in the first place will come to a blatant realization. That realization will not have a second chance, and will end in some grueling consequences.
I find that there are very intelligent arguments on both sides. However, since both sides can not prove or disprove God’s existence undeniably, I will take the better of the two sides. As the British nineteenth-century poet Lord Tennyson stated in his poem The Ancient Sage:

For nothing worthy proving can be proven,
Nor yet disproven; wherefore thou be wise,
Cleave ever to the sunnier side of doubt.

No! Leaving the Christian flock and the beliefs that accompanied it after 35 years was the most liberating experience in my life and things couldn't be better.

If there is a 'god' I think that it would appreciate we non-believers for not believing what religions try to define it as. It'd probably thank us for not slandering it.

Actually, what scare me at times are people who do not believe in a God. There are bad people who dose kill and do bad things in the name of God but doesn’t mean to say people who are atheist are all good either. Although atheist will argue that there is no scientific evidence that there is a God, they can easily dismiss it as a waste of time, but a true man of science will keep his options open. How can a fish prove that there is life outside the fishbowl when the fish has been living inside the bowl all its life?

Nope - I'm agnostic and I think that the idea of a 'god' ruling your life is much more frightening. Besides, what caring god would send non-belivers to hell, even if you are a good person? A god should be too almighty to care about human opinion.

This question sure did attract agnostics and atheists. An oasis of sanity in a sea of religiosity. Being an agnostic does not scare me at all. I got a series of emails from a Christian who is now praying for my "Cold and dark heart". I thanked him and pointed out the American Al-Qaeda guy was praying for both of us that we might find Allah. I figure, you can't have too many people praying for you.

It scares me that so many people have the opportunity to accept that there is a God, and they don't. The liberating feeling is the gift of eternal life, not the belief that there is no God.

I knew that. And you're right, it is liberating. No more worrying about meeting the approval of a sky spy.

For all of you idiots saying there is no God, you guys are ignorant. Ignorant because after everything that you see around you, and because of everything in the bible that shows facts.
Scientists try to contradict all the facts in the bible, they can't, thats why they try going deeper and deeper, and still they can't find anything.

Oh, and for that idiot that refers to us christians "the christians", your a ignorant person, you yourself can't find your inner self, you can't look within your heart and accept that you are here because of our Lord Jesus Christ. You can't accept that he died for all the sins us humans committ.
and your probly thinking, then why did he put us on this earth knowing that were going to commit sins, he put us on here for us to have a chance to spend an eternity with him. An eternity in peace.
Read the bible, don't just say something if you haven't read it.
