I think this is a counter question to those who believe in God. I know so folks believe in A god, but not the "devil"...I am curious to see poeples reaction. Do you believe it is just a way to balance the equation? A Ying Yang type scenario?

Yes I believe in the fallen Angel Lucifer. He is very much real, and you can see his existence everyday when you watch the news. Yes he is very much real.

I think of it this way: "Darkness" does not really exist - it is just the absence of light. Darkness cannot be created or measured, nor does it have mass. Light, however, does have mass and can be created and measured. So, darkness essentially doesn't exist - but its still a useful concept.

In the same way, God exists, but the devil, hell, and Feklar (sorry - obscure Star Trek reference!) are just concepts for the absence of God.

Additionally, the concept of a devil or Satan really wasn't introduced in the Bible until the New Testament. (The serpent in the Garden of Eden was just a symbol of temptation)

People who don't believe the devil is real are just plain old ignorant! What Bible are they reading from? Lucifer was created by God in heaven .... he got jeleous of God and was cast out along with a third of God's angels. Lucifer no longer holds that name but rather Satan or the devil and God's angels are no longer called Angels but demons.
People would like to think there's no devil because they want to continue in their sins without having to suffer the consequences of their sins....
I always say... "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink"

There are christian people that believe in God, but does not think Satan exists?

Interesting.
Odd, but interesting.
It seems they have never read the Bible.
Satan from the early part on, has been a 'wrench in the works'.

Yes. I believe that Satan is real. How can you believe in God, believe what the Bible says and not believe that there is Satan??? If you accept one, you have to accept both.. This goes for both sides. Either Christians, or Satanists.

Yeppers. Not just a balance to the equation. A complete Dark Presence who's sole purpose is the corruption and destruction of humanity.

if there is such a thing, i do see it basically as the negative aspect of the divine. the other side of the fence so to speak.

i don't believe in some evil person who has beef with god and just wants to drag everyone else down with him to join in his pity party, taking a delight in torturing them in brimstone and fire for all eternity.

for those who believe in Satan literally...ever notice in the book of Job how Satan is absolutely OBEDIENT to God??? now explain that.

Yes, I believe in the existence of an angel Lucifer who rebelled against God.

Lucifer is however not equal to God.

He is lower than God (as a created being).

Cordially,
John

no, jews do not believe in "the devil", or that the universe is some kind of epic battleground between good and evil. we just believe in G-d and nobody else. everything comes from G-d and there is no other. G-d is everywhere.

Some of the responses on this website are proof in itself that satin exists. It is biblical, and if you believe one word of the bible, you may as well believe them all.
