it is said to be a disorder of unknown origin. however, i believe it is a symptom of disease as a side effect like hepatitis c.

my fibro has definately improved since i did antiviral chemotherapy....i do have flare ups every great now and then, but i attribute that to stress and they are nothing what it used to be.

have the doctor test you for diseases where joint aches and pains and stiffness are a symptom such as liver disease.

Fibromyalgia is a word the medical establishment invented to say "you have muscle pain and I don't know why but I want to sound like I do." The source of your symptoms could possibly be determined by a naturopath but not by a doctor. I had one client that was diagnosed by a doctor with fibromyalgia. I noticed from his eyes that his parathyroids were underactive. The parathyroid glands regulate blood calcium level and his were not keeping a high enough level of calcium in the bloodstream, causing painful muscle cramps at times. I told him to take low doses of calcium/magnesium 4 times a day and he hasn't had the pain since. I don't think that is always the case, so you should see a naturopath to find out.

You can go to www.mayoclinic.com and it will tell you what it is. Alot of people do suffer from this. There is no known cure for it, and I don't think they know for sure what causes it. It is a painful and chronic condition. Good luck to you, and let me know how your doing.
