Other than widespread conversions to Islam, what changes would Muslims like to see in American society?

Question

I am looking for areas where Muslims and Christians will agree as far as things that are sinful and need to be removed from society in general. It is pretty clear that American society has become very godless, inhumane, corrupt, etc. What is most important? What is most urgent? How can we work together?

Yeah, thanks for the answers so far, people, but I am hoping to hear from Muslims. Any Muslim who is willing to respond, thank you.

Thanks to those who have continued to answer. That is more along the lines of what I am looking for. Please be as specific as you can. What cultural changes and changes in people's behavior would you like to see?

Maria, thanks for your input. I hope you will not consider me as responsible for the answers that other people have given in response to my question. There are many changes that I think American society needs, and I want to see if Muslims agree in these areas.

I want to thank everybody for their input. Both ugen and maria mentioned ignorance as one of the things they think needs to be changed. I may not have made it clear in my initial question, but I was looking for answers from Muslims, so I am awarding the Best Answer to Maria. Firstly..i thought tht the initial Question posted here was justified and was very neutral in finding a common ground for Muslims n christians..but somehow along the way the answers posted was far frm neutral and i hope after my post, there will be a more non-bias discussions and well informed individuals giving their opinions

I thnk most answers above are just so full of ignorance n their comments are judged on what is potrayed on the media. Don't u question why when a Muslim person do smthng bad (kill/rape) the media will say A MUSLIM MAN HAS COMMITED MURDER.. but when a christian or any other religion they don't?? Look at the US soldiers who raped n killed tht girl in Iraq n slaughter her family..they didn't say AMERICAN CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS!!! Its just such biasness and anyone who doesnt hv any muslim friends or hv never relate to any muslim person in real life will use this small minority or bad muslims as representatives of the whole religion.

Every religion promotes good and unity and Islam's values are no different. Yes, we do have differences in some aspects with the christians..jews..hindu..etc but tht doesnt mean we have to fight over it. Face it, no one can ever win a debate if everyone starts trying to convince each other tht their belief is the best. But the least we can do is to achieve a common ground of respect. Coming from a multiracial country of Malaysia, i hv many close friends of different beliefs n if u come to m'sia u can see mosques, churches, temple..n whatever prayer spots available for the religions. So, thts the answer how we can work together ..RESPECT. Yup in Malaysia Islam is the main religion but we allow other religions to freely practice their beliefs.. we respect n we allow them to go to church..read bibles..etc n in return we want thm to respect our girls and woman tht wear a head scarf and practise our religion in mosques and practice our islamic law..In M'sia we have 2 different laws where 1 is for all dealings with any cases under the sun n the other Syariah law tht deals specifically w muslims.in regards to marriage, divorce.

Please..i dont hv any hatred for christians..be it americans or australians or whatever background...esp as i hv been staying abroad for few yrs now n met so many different ppl.. i dont generalized them either as rapist/killer just becoz of several pervets n evil people out there frm their particular religion/race..so why shuld u label muslims as that too?

U hv ur God/s n we have ours too..so just respect tht n let's try to live in a more peaceful environment shall we

I am afraid I see no possibility of American Society working with
the Godless, Corrupt Inhumane fanatic terrorist Islamofaschist states and only a fair chance of working with the secular Muslim nations....With the obvious intent of the Islamofaschist states and the tacit support of the secular Muslim nations to destroy Western Civilization, WW3 seems inevitable...

American society, like all of society has problems.
I am a christian. I haven't harmed anyone today.
I do not intend to harm anyone.
I don't mind working with anyone for a peaceful solution.
I have nothing against Muslims.
Radical Muslims who would butcher my family in a heartbeat is another story.
I am not going to attempt to convert a Muslim to anything.
I refuse to be converted to anything.
So any Muslim in this country, if you don't like us,just go somewhere else and let us negotiate peace at a distance.
I will not harm you or your children, please don't harm mine, or I will support any action against you.

some of the people posting answers are idiots. They say you cannot challenge islam because it makes islam look bad. What makes islam look bad are the terrorists. Well every religion has contridictions. You just have to do what is right in your heart and not worry about other people. Everyone has their own level of spirituality and you must respect that.

I'm not a Muslim or a Christian, but I'd say ignorance is probably the worst thing in American society - ignorance of other people in the world (look at Sudan, Iraq)... ignorance of common sense (which is why Americans are fat and lazy)... and ignorance itself (the US has the best colleges and universities in the world, but only because our population and economy is so high - our high schools are absolutely horrible).

The muslims want us all converted to their particular brand of Islam or else killed and our way of life destroyed and our culture taken back the 12th century. I see nothing in common with them. Good luck finding common ground.

Come on,these animals hate you and everything you represent.There is no middle ground .
Evangelical christians and orthodox jews can work something out,but unless you are willing to sacrifice Israel,and every Jew in the Middle East,there will be no negotiations.
