And all of their religious leaders preach you must have faith in their God. I have no problem with that I think it is good to have faith in God. But when leaders use that faith in their God as a way to kill people and project them into a higher postion of power. Do you think this is the work of the devil?

Some people have misunderstood. I am not attacking any religion. I am not saying that religious leaders are telling people to go kill people. I am saying that other people of power are using peoples religious beliefs to do their dirty work.

I not coming from a fear stand point. I am not afraid of these people. I fell sorry for them. Maybe man should abandon religion and embrace meditation. That way people of power would not be able to minipulate them?

You are right. Building on that point, what if they do not preach killing of people, but just that you should not treat people outside that religion with respect.

How much trust should you vest in religious "leaders"? In my opinion: Not a lot. You should primarily trust yourself and your own interpretation of your religion.

Yes, it is from the Devil. The Bible says that the Devil can appear as an angel of light. No wonder that he can appear as a minister of light and mislead many.

The Bible says at 1 Tim. 1:11 that we are serving a happy God and it also says that God Is Love. A loving God will not have His people killing people and then reward them with 72 virgins in heaven if they do.

God promises heavenly life to a certain amount of people found at Revelation 7:4-9 and Revelation 14:1 The rest of the godly people, the Meek ones will inherit the earth and Psalms 37:9-11 and Proverbs 2:21, 22 says that the wicked people will be gone but the righteous will be left over. Isaiah the 65th. chapter mentions that No resident among you will say I am sick. Revelation 21:3,4 talks about this too.

God is loving. Anyone who has a religion that teaches you must kill people is not the right religion. The Apostle Paul said "As far as it depends on you, be peaceable with all men." People the worlld round should learn to love each other. Terrorists are wrong to kill people for Allah. Most of the Muslims in the world are peaceful people. It is the radicals that are wrong and causing too many people to die young.

You also described christianity too...

It would be a true world of peace if religions were actually inspired by a creator that is nothing but love...unfortunately the reality is that religion is a tool created by man originally to simply ease the burden of the one question which would drive the unevolved human mind into insanity if the question remained unanswered.

Unfortunately religion has been turned into a tool used by intelligent men driven by lust and greed for not only money, but also for the power to control the lives of the poor sheep in the field.

The lust and greed for the power to force or coerce
other humans is a trait which most all christians possess.
Unfortunately for them, it is a sin..

All religions other than Biblical Christianity teach Salvation by Works.

I agree with you that leaders of religions should not use the religion to kill others (to bring them more power). Such behavior is not from the True God of the Universe.

Cordially,
John

very few people on this site seem to have much interest in the eastern "religions"--taoism and buddhism, in particular. the three "desert religions" leave a lot to be desired, except in their esoteric aspect, probably practiced by1% of adherents, in which case they all do stand for the same principles. but popular christianity, islam etc. are run by men with bloated egos and bank acounts to match. check out the esoteric versions of the eastern practices, especially tibetan buddhism--very interesting. consider also the underlying need to "raise ones vibe" through meditation and "energy work" such as yoga, tai chi , chi kung, etc. in order to be in better alignment "with soul". for help along theses lines, see also http://www.sahajayoga.com spending time merely thumping a bible and obsessively accepting the teachings of any prophet, etc. equals dogma, blind faith, and robotic behavior. if you want to reduce your fear level, try the practices noted above. then you'll become a fearless INDIVIDUAL rather than a clone and zealot. ;-)

I don't know what religion you are talking about. I know what christianity says and it never tells you to go around killing people. Instead of telling people to kill other people the bible says that God sent his only begotten Son to die for people. Actually, I don't know of any other religion that teaches anything close to that.
