I am currently attending culinary arts school and am considering becoming a professional chef in a restaurant as most people do. However, I was wondering if there were any other interesting career paths that can be taken using a culinary degree.

You could open your own restaurant. I think it would be cool to use that degree in a non traditional way though. You could try to get hired by a cruise line or a travel company, or look for culinary jobs outside your country. Think about traveling the world, getting paid, fed, room and board all for doing what you love! If you don't like it after a year or so you can move on, but you'll have experience on your resume that makes you stand out from the rest! I think the cruise ship is a cool idea, I love free travel!

If your single you can join one of the services[ Air Force, Navy} and go in as an officer and see the world, you can join Peace Corp and help some other country get on it's feet and feed the children, you can be a dietitian and just plan meals for people, you can start your own catering co, big cities now have people come into their home and make a dinner meal 6 times and freeze it for later , 3 or 4 of that type of job could mean big bucks for you.
