"Church" is not a place. It is what you call those who have accepted Jesus as Savior. So you really can't go to church. The church is YOU if you are a believer. So if you are asking what is the point of the church gathering together in some location (whether it be in a building or simply someones home) I believe it is to 1) worship and glorify God with fellow believers 2) strengthen each other in our mutual desire to submit to the will of God 3) take the opportunity together to remember and give thanks for the supreme sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our sins. God bless.

It is for people who need to be constantly reminded that there is a God. It is not enjoyable at all. I used to go to church every Sunday unless I was ill or my parents wouldn't take me. I had to sit on hard benches. I wasn't allowed to move. I wasn't allowed to make a sound. I had to dress up. I hated it. When I was young they gave out snacks during mass and I wasn't allowed to have any. When I grew up they wanted me to have some but then they said it was a body I was eating and blood I was drinking. That is disgusting!!! The body didn't even have any flavor. No wonder there aren't a lot of cannibals. Bodies taste awful. That blood they wanted you to drink, you can actually choke on it if you drink it too fast. They only allow you to take small sips though. I don't want to go back there again.

I want to know were you went to church at.And what religion it was.As for christains we are not saved by singing ,dancing , or screaming. But by a true repentance through Jesus Christ.Of which it is obvious you could use.David killed , committed adultery , and was a man after God own heart.I hope you do just as you said you would about repenting . I'm sure God will forgive you if your sincere.

To be in communion with your fellow worshippers.

There is no dancing and screaming during an Orthodox Divine Liturgy.

Maybe you're looking for a break from Satan worship....

According to the bible, christians are supposed to go to church to fellowship with other believers. It is supposed to help remind them to keep God first in their lives and not give in to temptation. It never says you have to go to an actual church; you can get the same benefit from a meeting in your home it you have to.

Going to church and your deeds will not take you to heaven. God sees the heart of a man. If you truly love God with all your heart, soul and mind, then you will have the peace to express it in most humbling way.

Christians go to church to talk to other believers, to worship God with others, to be connected to a community of believers, to not be alone in their faith. God admonishes us to not forsake the gathering of the believers, and we were designed for relationship by God Himself. It can also be fun, too...
