If you went to Mexico to better your life, what type of music would you listen to? I bet you wouldn't change and start liking mariachi and stuff just because you were in another country, especially if M. Manson, Underoath, etc. were being sold on every corner. I don't know anyone that worships Selena, but it was a tragic loss when she died so young. There is just a culture difference. It is like carnaval music to me, but I like it. Better get used to Arabic and Indian music, they are next to try to suck some f the money from us.

Music sooths the savage beast so they say.

I don't care for some but I don't hate all. American music is popular around the world we do top the charts in entertainment.
I don't know many entertainers from Mexico-none that stick out in my mind.
I have seen some blast their music to incite. That is rude. We have them too here.
At least some answered strongly without a personal attack.

And don't worry about points and personal attacks--the foolish do that. Kid Games. Just post some of us are enjoying your post very much. See you often many of us hope

BTW who r u to say what kind of music anyone listens to, from the sound of it ur taste in music isn't that great-Manson was very popular w/the public either he looks like a sicko & talented LOL!. why don't u do a little research & not make so many idiotic stereotypes next time u write something in the little box.

Who are you calling a pansy?

We are a professional show mariachi, who has visited the White House and participated with symphonic band performances at various major attractions! But what would you know about being cultured. Cultured educated people know that the genre of mariachi music is the ambassador music of Mexico and is heard all over this globe, including Japan. Bet that's news to you!

Selena is not worshiped, but celebrated, the same way any major artist is. Selena was a star, a cross-over star at the level of Marc Anthony and Ricky Martin. Your problem with Latino entertainers shows your intolerance of cultural diversity in the arts. Poor you.

Mariachi music is fun. The Mexican hat dance is classic... I couldn't listen to it every day though.

I couldn't listen to any of the stuff you listed for more than 5 minuets either. There is no accounting for taste. BTW- M. Manson is the King/Queen of androgyny and his talent is right there with Michael Bolton's.

Selena was nothing special.

Your North Carolina post here who loves to insult anything connected to Mexico does not realize that country music is not all that different from mariachis. The country twanging guitars and violins, Charlie on Fox tonite, is not necessarily quiet either! He could use a monkey in a tin can as well.

Education changes perspective. I love mariachi music, yeah! Cinco de Mayo and Margaritas, bring it on!

What the heck?last i checked this was still a free country and you can hear whatever type of music you wanted. And if that's your idea of "american" music that everyone should listen to i would rather stick with the mariachi music.Geesh.Throw in some country in there, personally out of my stereo I blast out some merle haggard, johnny cash and waylan jennings.but that's just me if someone else doesn't like it they are more than free to roll up their windows and listen to whatever they choose to.

Well you said "talented",Personally to me those singers aren't talented and btw to the hispanic community Selena is the female version of yall's Elvis. So why not let dead people rest in peace already, think its very rude to bring someone up whom you know nothing about and who's songs you never have heard. Many people worship Elvis like he's god too but to each their own.

Selena was Mexican-American, thus as AMERICAN as you...... you're not so bright are you....?

Excuse us for wanting to keep a part of our culture with us...

And if Selena was "nothing special" to you, well no one cares... she was a wonderful talented young woman in our eyes...and that's all that matters

As a Mexican-American, I can listen to Selena and Dashboard Confessional...

ignorance=sad

Princess: You claim you're NOT a racist...haaha...! just look at the uneducated comments you post.... grow up lady
