Yes there has the Internet for one gives everyone a place to hide their face while saying rude things to members on this board. The Bird gets flipped way too much, increase in road rage calm down let whoever may be tailgating you pass then there is no accident, Vulgar language on TV, movies, magazines, ads, celebrity behavior our kids mock off of. not to mention the parenting style of today (no offense meant there) with the discipline. I could go on and on but I think these are several good examples I hope this helps you with your answer.

I think what definitely has increased is the number of places one can be rude / vulgar and get away with. Classic example is the internet - where one can't even see the disgust on the other person's face while being a bully.
Sometimes circumtances push people to become rude. Like in our case, we moved into these apartments a few weeks ago. They promised to fix a microwave - 'shortly'. It took them 6 weeks to fix it. 5 weeks of polite follow-up and one face-face show down of what-the-heck's-going-on. Obviously, we are led to believe that these poeple understand only that kind of language. Did we do that by chioce, no - we were treated like dirt until we had a showdown. During those 6 weeks not once did anyone give a proper response or bother to give us an update. One showdown and the same day it got fixed.
Similarly, the place we vacated before moving here, we did a whole lot of things we needn't have done, merely as a courtesy, but didn't receive a word of appreciation or gratitude from the owner we did it for. He was rather rude and even short changed us on our dues from him.
We haven't stopped being polite, but yes we don't "go-on" being polite anymore.
Oh yeah - for the record, we aren't of european origin, but those who were impolite to us, sure were. What say - Mr. Symanlegrix .....?? Stop being racist peepul, there's enuf and more world leaders doing that anyway.

I mostly get it when i need to call into somehwere for help with my phone or internet service. For example, they came out with a new version of the software that wasnt available when I worked for my ISP provider, so when it started to act up I had to call in to find out if the fix was the same as the previous version. After giving all the details of my issue to the guy, he starts speaking really loud and super slow.
Ok so you are having a problem signing on is this correct?
Yes sir it is.
Ok delete your cookies.
I already did that, reoptimized my internet explorer, re-poped my dial credentials, tried clearing and reinstalling the user tiles, and I am still not able to sign in. Do i have to uninstall and re-install my software sir, or is there a new thing for this newer version.
I kid you not, he goes well, if you did all that already why are you wasting my time?I have other clients who really need help. Then he hung up.
Honestly the amount of rude people has gone up after parents started being told how they can and can not correct their children. Somestates even made it illeagal to put them in time out as it opposed the childs righ to happiness. Huh? Well what ever!I think the number will decline now that we the parents are getting our rights back and can correct them in a more proper fashion beside just going well fine im not talking to you anymore for fear of getting aressted. Sorry so long.

Well once saying something vulgar was frowned on, now few blink. I seen a very beautiful lady in full gown out for a play and nothing she said fit with what she was wearing or doing. She looked less glamorous after that. So many examples but someone else can share theirs now.

Absolutely!! People have lost a lot of self respect and respect to others. Thanks to the culture we live in, it seems that nothing is sacred anymore. Just look at what you see on TV as compared to 20 years ago, for example. Families are not being raised like they used to be. There are so many more single parent homes and very little values are being taught. Look at all the children brought into this world unwanted, abused, abandoned. Many of them are left to fend for themselves and they have nothing stable. It's very hard to raise a child to be respectful in today's society when there is so much bad going on.

Yes, I feel there has been an increase. People are so stressed out these days. We never stop and rest if we do look where we are on the computer.

yes definitely! i think a lot of it goes back to what our younger generation watches on t.v. they don't care what they say or do on there anymore. if they grew up on shows like andy griffith or leave it to beaver, they might say please and thank you instead of giving people the finger or who knows what else. there is a lot more stress now too. it's harder to make a living than it used to be and prices are outrageous. kids have a hard time keeping up with what thier friends have. if you don't have the right shoes you get made fun of. i could go on and on, but i won't. you get the picture.

Yes. Children who are not disciplined are to blame. Their parents somehow under the impression that a good spanking is like beating your child. Children should have some fear of authority and it should start with the parents. Fear breeds respect!
