I have smoked weed twice, and each time I haven't gotten high at all. Afterwards, I got really sick. What could be causing this?

Sure, you can be allergic to just about anything...

Yes, you could be allergic to marijuana. You can develop allergies to anything. Sometimes people have to smoke several times before they get high the first time (I have no idea why this happens). Or it may have been bad weed.

What type of sickness did you experience after you smoked? Was it the same after both times?

You will have to decide if you want to try smoking again. If you do, then make sure you smoke different weed and watch for similar sickness symptoms.

Good Luck!!!

This is not an allergic reaction..but that does not mean that you are not allergic to Marijuana. . Some people require a higher dose of a drug to feel the effects and many people do not get "high" with the first few episodes of smoking MJ. If you smoke anything for the first time...from tobacco to crack cocaine...then you run the risk of Nausea and vomiting..do to the altered co2/o2 levels that occur among other physiological events.
Marijuana has anti-emitic (anti-nausea) properties and that is why we give it to patients in liquid capsular forms. (marinol) because it does control nausea. We do not use marijuana from street vendors because some of the chemicals in it may cause nausea and vomiting among other symptoms. But you were probably not nauseated before you smoked it.

Here are the signs and symptoms of a true anaphylactic reaction (alergy): What are the symptoms of an anaphylactic reaction?
An anaphylactic reaction may begin with a tingling sensation, itching, or metallic taste in the mouth. Other symptoms can include hives, a sensation of warmth, asthma symptoms, swelling of the mouth and throat area, difficulty breathing, vomiting, diarrhea, cramping, itching skin, a drop in blood pressure, and loss of consciousness. These symptoms may begin in as little as five to 15 minutes to up to two hours after exposure to the allergen, but life-threatening reactions may progress over hours. True anaphylactic reactions do not usually present with only one symptom....but can increase in symptoms and intensity of symptoms, with repeated exposure.
If you do have an allergic reaction ...then the drug of choice would be adrenalin (epinephrine) IM

you could be allergic, but what do you mean by sick? did you get the munchies..eat to much, and puke? did you feel like you were getting a cold? Did your chest feel congested ? These things can be normal...I don't know why, but it takes some people a while to feel what is called the high. I suggest you stop smaoking or try a few more times.

I think you can be allergic to anything really. Some people are allergic to milk, others bee stings... crazy stuff. If ya have a reaction, well, then don't smoke weed again! (actually.. don't smoke it at all. There's your best bet)

Sure you could.
Its a type of plant-- and you could as easily be allergic to ragweed, which would cause a worse reaction if you smoked it.
Stay away from it because the next reaction could be worse. People do die from severe allergic reactions.

Marijuana like any other plant can cause allergic reactions in some people. Just like flowers, animal dandruff, dust, and other molecules in the air, it has natural chemicals that can cause irritations in your respiratory system, especially if you are intentionally in-hailing it.

You could be allergic to it, or you could have bought bad marijuana. Marijuana usually cures nausea, not cause it.
