I take Seroquel for sleeping and mood swings. However, I was wondering: can you become dependant on it? Little by little I've stopped taking it because it is making me so drowsy in the morning that I can't function at school. But as I've stopped taking it, I absolutely CAN'T sleep! I could honestly go a whole 24 hour day not sleeping because I didn't take the Seroquel, and it's kicking me in the butt!

Seroquel is an Anti- Anxiety/Anti- Psychotic medicine which is used just for reasons stated above. It is a heavy duty type of medicine and if one takes it for a while, it is normal for your body to become addicted to it. Withdrawl symptoms from stopping the medicine are agitation, sleeplessness etc. Your body is trying to adjust to "life without it". You really should talk to your doctor. I was on it for 3 years and went off of it very slowly. It took a while but after about nine days, I was doing better. Any medicine that is a narcotic, will give you withdrawl symptoms. However, there is a reason that you were prescribed it so I would not stop taking it without your doctors knowledge.

It can be a dependant drug and you are not supposed to come off it without the dr helping you.
