I like Noah cuz there he was the only one listening to God and they all mocked him and he kept right on building that arc. And then they wanted to get in but it was all closed up and floating..

Paul is definitely my favorite. Even though he started off killing God's people, God completely changed him and used him to do His will. After being born again, Paul was completely souled out for God, completely! He went everywhere he could to minister the gospel and he wrote more than half of the new testament. He showed God's glory with his actions and his way of life, not only with his words. Paul is a great person to look to, especially if you have sowed some bad seeds in your life and you want to change and be free. By the way, why did you say 'favorite Biblical characters' as if they were made up or something?

Mine would have to be From catholic dogma (not the bible, but picked out just like the gospels were at the Coucil of Nicea) Michael the Archangel is the BEST!!!! I mean, you got heaven's bouncer, and all that represents fighting for a good cause, a warrior that still has honor and beliefs. He is the greatest figure in the entire lore of Christianity. I am not even a Christian but you gotta love St. Michael's style. Patron st of police officers, marines and soldiers. Plus he whipped satan's @ss. Good stuff!!!

John the Baptist - He is a vewry good prophet, he is different than the others in his behavior and he started the new movement for universal religion before Jesus. He is also very kind to animals, like a predecessor to Francis of Assisi.
Job- He shows complete devotion to God.
Ishmael- He managed to survive in the Jewish version of the story despite his rejection.
The woman who gave the only penny she had- She was very generous and a warning to hypocrites who do good deeds only to be seen.

I would say Joseph of the old testament because no matter where God had placed him...as a slave, in prison, in service to a foreign king or even back in the fields with his brothers when initially betrayed; he did everything as if he was working for the Lord. He did his best and without complaining regardless of the result.

That's not an easy question to answer. The bible is filled with stories of great men and women. I would have to go for King David. Here you have a young man, a sheep herder...mind you. The least above all jobs, and serving God to the fullest. The bible states that God smiled upon David. God said concerning David: This is a man after my own heart. All David did was for God, and God alone. He was a poet, warrior, musician, composer and sheep herder - for God. David placed God above all. David defeated all who opposed God and the Kingdom. At age 16, God annointed David as King over Israel. David did not know what was going on at the time.God did not give David the throne til 14 years later. During that period, he did what he did best...Served God in all he did. God knew that David was not ready for such a task, so he prepared David for what was predestined of him. At the same time David was serving King Saul, he was being disciplined and trained (under King Sauls rule) to take over the throne. King Saul was clueless... like Alicia Silverstone in "Clueless". King David was a great man and warrior of God. God looks at the heart and nothing else. Out of all the land of Israel, David was the only one that was spiritually fit . God was not looking for someone who was physically strong, for those are great in numbers. But God was looking for someone who was spiritually strong. David was his man. Predestined to lead Gods Kingdom...Wow!

Punches Pilot Love how much, and in concise manner the phase: Washing my hands relays. The thief spared going to guess at spelling Barbabas, because of recent speculation how one group would rather have real bad guy released, than one who threatened money changers in temple.

I love the story of Ruth and Naomi because there aren't a whole lot of female stories in the Bible. It is an example of family love and devotion between a mother and her daughter-in-law. I also love the "virtuous woman" even though she is an example, not a named person.

I love Abigail because she is so wise and sensible.
I love David because he is an honest sinner who still loved God.
I love Peter because he is so human. He is always putting his foot in his mouth.
I love Rahab because she was a business woman, strong, and a real individualist. Do you know that Jesus comes through her lineage?
