Where do you meet that special someone?

Simply telling someone where you met your one & only does not aid them. Almost everyone's story is different.

For example I met my fiance at a going away party held in my honor! We started talking, spent the two weeks before I left together, and eventually it was more important for me to stay with her than move to Florida. A touching story, but does it help?

The main thing is to be open to meeting someone. Be approachable. How? Try some of the following:

1.) You don't drink, not a problem, and dance clubs are very loud, making conversation difficult. What about local venues that are alcohol free? Coffeehouses come to mind.

2.) What are your interests? Many local groups meet for hobbies, book discussions, gym workouts, poetry and prayer meetings, and even so like-minded individuals can mingle. If you are looking to "hook-up" these are not likely places, but if you are trying to build a relationship, a mutual interest can give you conversation starters and ease the way if you have a problem with shyness.

3.) How do you appear when you are on the street? Sometimes random meetings do occur. Don't think you have to dress up to go anywhere either, body language can tell volumes about you. Do you smile when you are out and about? Is your head up or down? Do you keep your hands in your pockets? Do you slouch? Try to remember to appear confidant. Walk with your head up, wear a little smile, let your arms swing rather than keeping them tucked in your pockets. Even an everyday errand like shopping or picking up something from the cleaners can be an opportunity.

4.) What about your friends? Married people usually have single friends, and some people love to play matchmaker. It may not work out, but what do you have to lose?

The lightning of true love can strike anywhere, and hopefully these little tips can help you be a good conductor.

Good luck & never give up! There is someone for everyone.

Work is not a good idea because if things go bad, you have to see each other every day - believe me from personal experience. I met my guy thru friends - they all said he was a really good guy and I didn't think he was cute when I first met him but they were right, he's the most amazing guy I've ever met. Try meeting guys that your friends know and think would be a good match for you.

Go to a coffee house. If you don't really drink this is an ideal place to meet someone like yourself. Works for many people. Good luck.

I met mine in college. Another good bet is through friends, that way you have a good chance of meeting someone with at a similar place in life. Also, you can find a club or activity that you really enjoy to join, where at least you'll know you have one thing in common.
Good luck!

I met my fiance through a guy I was dating at the time. See if one of your married friends has a nice single friend to introduce you to. Maybe they work with somebody or know somebody who is also looking for a relationship.

I met my significant other at school. Find someone at a place where everyone can express themselves so you can see for yourself how that person is. The mall, library, book store, coffee shop. Explore.

Strangely enough, I don't remember where I met him. I've known him a very long time, since we were teens. But, thank goodness I did meet him. You wll meet yours too.
