I pray every night before bed, and usually in the mornings and throughout the day, too. I need all the help I can get! I do not use rehearsed prayers, but I admit, as a poet myself, I think it is beautiful.
For me, I do better simply expressing my thanks, asking forgiveness and seeking for strength to do God's will....in my own terms.
Best of luck.

Yessss.Ask the Holy Spirit, see what He says.
Point is,if you have a strong desire to glorify the Lord Jesus thru your poems, and Jesus said that's what the Holy Spirit would do among other things when He came on earth, then maybe you should publish them, after asking Him first!

It is very nice but it sounds practiced. If you don't mind me asking i hope you don't stop there but confess you sins, ask for forgiveness, and thank the lord for the things that happened today. Your prayers will be different tomorrow because different things happen tomorrow. Peace to you and yours.

I do pray before going to sleep most of the time, and I do believe you should publish your wonderful prayers and poems.

jews have our own bedtime prayers. here are some translated to english:
"blessed are You, oh L-rd our G-d, King of the Universe, who created day and night. You roll away the light from before the darkness, and the darkness from before the light. blessed are You, L-rd, who creates the evening twilight."
"blessed are You, oh L-rd our G-d, King of the Universe, who makes the bands of sleep fall upon my eyes, and slumber upon my eyelids."
"may it be Your will, oh L-rd my G-d, and the G-d of my fathers, to let me lie down in peace, and to let me rise up again in peace."
there is the Sh'ma of course as well and also certain prayers we say when waking up.

Yes, I pray that no one will ever ask a religous question on Yahoo! Answers again. Unfortunately, it still hasn't been answered. Does that mean God doesn't like me? Boo Hoo.
