NO it will be the way I want it, it is MY hair

No, i would not, this is my hair, on my head, not his. You could end up with a hair cut, that you seriously don't like and you're stuck with it, until it grows out. If you get the hair cut he likes, next it'll be something else, he wants you to change.

I often ask my husband before I cut my hair what he thinks about a particular haircut or if I should get a few inches cut. He gives me his opinon, but is really not decisive about it, since he loves the woman under the hair much more than the hair itself.

I often find myself trying to accomodate his suggestions though, since he is the one's opinon I care most about. I don't have to see my hair as much as he does.

Guys that really get that worked up over a woman's hair are usually control freaks. There's no way that I would wear I stiyle that I didn't like. If he picked a style that was basically OK with me but not my first choice, I might go with it if he made it worth my while (e.g. promised daily massages for as long as I kept that syle).

Your boyfriend might have a valid point and want you to look your best. Get a second and third unpartial opinion then go get a stylist's opinion. And yes pay attention to the boyfriend's idea but you have to use your own decisions for yourself. Hopefully they are intelligent and researched decisions.

no, never. If he had a good suggestion I would listen to him, but I would not listen if he told me to grow my hair long or something, I have my hair how I like it, and in a style that gives me minimal stress in the mornings. Currently am growing it long, but I intend to have to very short again soon.

Only if he and I agreed on it. I got my hair cut yesterday and it was something we both liked.

Honey, don't go there. Don't change yourself unless it is a change you want for yourself. I was once married to a man who was so controlling, he went with me to the stylist to make sure my hair looked the way he wanted it. My opinion had nothing to do with it. He picked out my clothes and told me what to wear when and where. Needless to say he is my ex-husband. Find someone who wants you just the way you are, one who doesn't mind how your hair looks because it is your heart and mind he is in love with. Don't ever let anyone take control of you!

Only if it is a style I also like. I may not have to look at it all the time but I am the one that must fix it every day,

Never. It is a form of control.

My husband once said to me, "I like your hair long" (after I trimmed it shorter).

I looked at him (who likes to wear a high-n-tight), "I like your hair long too! So I'll tell you what, you don't tell me how to wear my hair and I won't tell you how to wear yours." (which is true because he looks so much more relaxed with longer hair).

There has never been hard feelings either way about our choices.
