what would happen to all those prison jobs, and the like?

Considering the fact that there were far more murder victims in the last three years just in the city of LA then we have lost service men and women in combat since the war started, YES, that would be a very good thing. That is a major part of the problem both in Iraq and in New Orleans right now, Their leaders let all the criminals out of their prisons when they lost control.

It would be a good thing. The prison guards could get jobs selling siding. The prisons could be turned into schools.

That is not likely to happen. Prison jobs will still be here for the rest of your life

transfer the prison jobs to another form of employment that is needed and constructive.

we don't need crime for the sake of keeping prison workers employed. the point of prisons is to exist as a necessary evil so long as there is a necessity. not as an industry unto itself which would want to keep criminals coming in so that they can keep business going.

the jobs would begin to disappear and more productive jobs would be developed because the econony would be growing at such a faster rate than it does now do the the drag crime as on the economy.

no crimes would equal no jails, no jobs, no security systems, which is more loss of jobs which would eventually lead to a huge loss in economy. Altho no crimes equals no fear and everyone in peace...pretty hard to choose.

The unemployment rate would soar completely out of sight. We have to have crime. It's part of our internal structure.
