I have faith because God sent His Son, and Jesus died for me. I have hope, because Christ rose again.

Thanks for sharing, and keep walking in the Christian faith.

The empty tomb and the many eye-witnesses of Christ following HIs death upon the Cross is an essential to the Christian faith. If Christ did not rise from the dead then our faith would be in vain. "Now if Christ be preached that He rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain (1st Corinthians 15:12-14)". This is a logical Truth that is paramount to the Christian faith, because it is the Risen Christ Whom we worship and put our hope, faith and belief in. It is the risen Christ Who makes Himself intimately known to all those who truly believe in Him and accept Him as their Personal Saviour. We say "personal", because the relationship between the Believer and Christ is very personal and intimate, because He manifests Himself within the Believer and literally "reveals" Himself within you and makes Himself "known". Unbelievers cannot grasp this literal Truth because, the Holy Spirit of Christ our Saviour is "invisible" and cannot be "seen". The fact that the Spirit is invisible nevertheless does not make HIs personal relationship within the Believer any less true. I can say that I "know" Christ Personally. If I was to say that I know Him "not", then I would be a liar and not speaking the truth. But I know Him, He is in me, and has become a very close friend that is forever with me.

How can I possibly know whether or not your faith will live on?

I do think it's pretty silly to base your entie outlook of life on the words of a few ancient men you don't even know, with no ability to independently substantiate what they said. None of the NT writers were even eyewitnesses of Jesus. So it's even worse than it sounds at first.

The NT could have originally been an intentional work of fiction later accidentally filed in the history section.

My conviction of the truth of Christian Gospel is based on the two statements above, but also more than just the two statements above...

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

For scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm

Cordially,
John

Yes and so do most of the rest of the church, however there are those who have not got as much faith as you or I and as for those who do, they understand everything your saying.

this is not a question, but this is you lucky day and I won't report you for disregarding the Yahoo community guidelines.

By the way, does God tell you to disobey the rules (that's those "dumb" little communty guideline thingies you should read once in a while)?

No, there's no reason to believe Peter over Muhammad or anyone else for that matter.
