The non-religious are easier to talk to, even on religious subjects. They are more open-minded, yet often skeptical so not just any garbage gets let in. Most are just people living their lives who just can't be bothered with sky-gods and mysticism. They have more important things to do, and are generally more down to earth than most godders.
Many people living with religion but not fanatical about it are also easy to get along with, open minded and careful about what kind of propoganda is coming their way.
It's only the extreme fundies that I perceive as whack jobs.

In general, I find non-religious people to be:
cranky and quick to anger or intelligent and reflective
In general, I find religious people to be:
loving, patient, and kind or narrow-minded and judgmental.
My favorite are the loving, patient Christians, Muslims, and others out there. But the cranky atheists and narrow-minded Christians seem to be louder than the rest. Unfortunate.

No. God's presence is not limited to religous people, and evil is not always absence in relgious people. Doesn't matter. We are all human and deal with the same stuff.

No. Not in general. Statistically, yes, but statistics and general are two different things.

Not really, except in us Subgenius. You see, our religion is based largely on slack. So we are a lazy, fun loving bunch.

Depends on the individuals.
Truly committed Christians have a genuineness of love and humility that I have been attracted to.
Some Cultural Christians and many anti-Christians have an arrogance and pride that I am repulsed by.

I have noticed that a lot of people who dislike religion are very angry , just look at their picture and see for yourself.

We are all sinners. We all live selfish lives.
One admits it, acknowledges the need for a Savior and accepts the free gift that Jesus Christ offers.
