I have tried Ebay, but didn't come near what I want for it....It was $900 before adding the bustle and it's a gorgeous dress, but all I want for it is $400...is that too much to ask for an unused dress? I don't know why it wont sell! Any ideas how to sell it? We don't have any good consignment shops in my area, either. I'm bummed.

Just to clarify...I am not being greedy. Emotional attachment is not even close. I bought another dress when we changed our plans. I haven't yet tried the paper...thanks for the idea and I don't know why I didn't think of it. LOL! Appreciate all the help!

i too have a wedding dress such as yours hanging in my closet and i keep it there until I decide sell...burn...sell...burn....

If you put it on ebay do a reserve price that usually bumps the prices up. Make sure you check on the current price of the dress and extras. You may find it went on sale and believe me brides to be can sniff that out quick.
Make sure your ad is pleasing and really emphasizes the gown. add a pic, a good pic, show the receipt minus the personal info. show a magazine or catalog ad. make a bride want your dress!
Classifieds, ads up at floral shops, colleges, churches etc will aid in your parting with this gown.
Goodluck and I hope you do sell it especially for what you want for it!

Try preownedweddingdresses.com and partypop.com. If you go on the knot there are a lot of bios that you can put it in. I think one is called the forsalebio, but just post on the dress board and ask for sure.

I do not know anyonw who is going to want to buy a used dress for that much. You are being too greedy because you are emotionally attached, Be lucky if you get $200 for it.

Take a pic of it and make a brochure and put up in party supply stores ones that sell wedding supplies, try contacting some wedding planners, they are always looking for new stuff to sell to their customers.

Try CraigsList - they sell a lot of wedding dresses. Rarely can you get more than a third of value of dress. Good Luck!

Wait a while and then try selling it again. Also try your local newspaper.

Remember what you consider beautiful, doesn't mean it is.

The JCrew clothing are wonderful! truly properly made, very flattering. I have considered both the marriage and the bridesmaid clothing on others, and that i have in my view worn between the bridesmaid ones. very sturdy deal. And the bridesmaid clothing are wearable back :-)
