The only use for a real weapon is target practice and/or decoration. There is no reason to hurt anybody or anything with it. ( Unless of course you are hunting for food.)

In idaho, even in the capital city with a million people in it, we still get mountian lions roaming the neighborhoods and wild wolves that eat children.

we use real weapons to protect our children and pets from wildlife.

we also have alot of immigrants from third world countries that think rape and robbery are okay. i'd like to be ready to shoot them if they come in my house.

and don't forget the meth users I chase away from my car at night as they try to steal it. a gleaming barrel and "click click" seems to make them drop their backpacks as they run so my neighbors can have their things back and the cops have fingerprints.

I have real use for weapons. I hope I never have to use them, though.

Home self defense, sure. I keep firearms and, if a burglar broke into my house, I wouldn't hesitate to shoot the criminal. I'd say my firearms count as "real weapons."

Yes, I could use a gun, or rifle or a machine gun right now to bang this nail into the wall. Keep the bullets. Will pass on hand grenades though. I hate messes.

Yes.
You can't hold off the bad guys for long with a fake weapon.

Having been brutally attacked, I never leave home without my .38. Of course I'm trained and licensed to carry. And I have had occasion to reveal it to a potential attacker.

Better than the American Express Card: a .40 caliber Glock. Don't leave home without it!

I could find a cool use for one of those net-guns that Marlin Perkins used to use. See photo:
