Are you sure you mean bible bashers? Bible bashers are those who do not believe in the bible and criticize every aspect of it. Yet you describe and extremist Christian trying to convert people.

The Bible says that there will be "believers and non-believers". It is called FREE WILL, so you can choose what you want. Christians are obligated to expose you, the non-believer to the Word of God. I wouldn't bother you but some people believe they must.

By the way.....Christians are called "Bible Thumpers".....NOT Bible Bashers. Non-believers "Bash" the Bible, Christians don't. Good luck in your life. Pops

I am going to try to explain why I witness to people-what you call convert-Hopefully you will take it in the spirit it is meant and not use it for a reason to insult.
Lets compare salvation to a cure for cancer--now I know that they are 2 seperate things, but bear with me for a minute. If I had a cure for cancer, knew how to get rid of it, heard about it from someone else, got cured myself and didn't tell anyone else about it, I would be pretty sorry and selfish wouldn't I? Often cancer is a death sentence, without a cure, many will die. Salvation from sin is a cure (to those of us that believe) that keeps us from eternal death and damnation. Sin is a disease, believers know that Jesus is the cure and if we don't share that cure, we are being selfish and inconsiderate of others. Now if I had the cure for cancer and shared it, you would have to choice to give it a try or not, same with salvation. I can tell you about it, and you can decide that is what you need to do, or not. Either way, I have done the right thing by telling you about it. Not sure I appreciate being called a bible basher, maybe you mean bible thumper, but anyway, that is my answer. Peace and blessings to you.

I'm not certain that the term Bible bashers is what you mean.... A Bible basher would speak ill of the Bible. Those that know God.... believe and do their best to follow God's word, the Bible.

I'm not a bible basher, I'm just an Atheist. But I'll stay out of this section if the bible thumpers stay out of the Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transgendered section, which is something that is never going to happen.

They claim to have read the Bible but actually they read snippets and try to interpret in a worldly fashion.

Then they proceed to shoot their mouth off for the rest of their lives that the Bible has contradictions.

It is up to us Christians to point out that it is not an unusual experience to come up with contradictions on the first read and it is all because of us trying to read the Bible in a worldly fashion. When you read it like it is all about God and the church, the Bible suddenly comes into focus.

Actually, the phrase you meant to use was "Bible thumpers". Bible bashers insult and mock.

Christians share the Word of God (especially on "religion boards") because they love Christ. We did it for Him.

I'm a little confused, do you mean bible thumpers? A bible basher would be someone who bashes teh bible, or makes fun of the bible.

Most bible thumpers believe it is their duty to convert others because they are told to by Jesus. They feel it is their duty to save the "heathens"...

Hate is a strong word...Dislike with a passion...yes! I hear what you mean. It is like if a Christian bashes a religion, they are being close minded and judgmental, but when a Bible basher bashes a bible, no one says any thing. That's just hypacritical.

I don't consider myself a bible basher, but neither do I accept the christians new testament invention, so let's just call a spade a spade and study the original jewish bible that god gave us
