anjelkake - you are assuming the oceans contained salt water in Biblical times, and even if they did, it never rains salt water, so the salt content (if any) of ocean water would have been highly diluted by the rains. Also, obviously Noah didn't put any whales on the Ark, so whales should have been able to survive the flood without external intervention

Um... I don't think so...God sent the flood to destroy the evil people, and after the flood it said that only Noah, his wife, their three sons, and their wives survived...and plus it rained for 40 days and 40 nights, but they were actually in the ark for about 1 year and ten days...look it up....but uh you have a great imagination!
