When girls boast that they are these tiny sizes, it turns out that these sizes aren't that tiny at all. A true size 0 measurements are 31-23-33. How many of you size 0's can honestly say these are your measurements? I've heard that some size 0 clothes have a 25/26 inch waist. That is really a size 4/6, that is a big difference.

So really all these tiny sizes don't mean that people are really that skinny, it just means clothes sizes have been downsized, without actually reducing the measurements! So what used to be a 4 is now a 2 and what used to be a size 2 is now a 0.

All this vanity sizing is just there to make women feel better about themselves, it's all BS. Why can't they just label all clothes with the true measurements. There there would be no confusion and no crap.

If you read again, you can see I have asked several questions, all within my 'rant'. Just be grateful for the 2 points!

sigh....No Posey, I'm not jealous, as I have a slim figure myself. I'm not a size 0, and trust me I wouldn't want a 31 inch bust and 33 inch hips, honestly who would?

But I do have a small waist like you, did I say a 25 inch waist was big? No. But I do have boobs and butt too, so I'm certainly not complaining.

I'm just fed up with all the lies and bs from the retailers. It's not a rant at size 0 girls, so get your facts straight before you play the jealousy card.

Many clothing manufacturers take advantage of this sizing method in order to make their consumers feel good about being able to wear a smaller size.

These companies feel that this will, perhaps, make them buy more of their product. However, the downside of this strategy with respect to the consumer is the fact that when that consumer goes to a different store and tries on a different brand of jeans that uses a true sizing scheme, the consumer may start to feel insecure about their size knowing that last week they bought a pair of jeans that was a size 5 and this week they had to buy a pair that was a size 9.

In short, the manufacturers that are using the vanity sizing system are perpetuating society's unrealistic standards for thinness which is compounding the problems with eating disorders and women's negative body images.

This isn't a question, but anyway. Yes I'm a size 0 and those measurements are pretty accurate for me, except in the chest... sometimes I'm a 00. Anyway, a 25 inch waist is still pretty tiny.

I take it from your little rant that you're probably a bit jealous.

Also noticed that the more expensive the clothes, the smaller the size in them.

Take your (since we're being hypothetical here, haha) 36-24-36 self over to Rodeo drive and slide into a pair of skinny jeans, sized 6. Now take your 36-24-36 self to the plus-sized isle of WalMart and welcome your butt into a size18!

Money can buy happiness. If happiness is found in a number inside the waist of your shorts.
