Not only might they be called on to deal with these particular organizations, but these organizations also have considerable influence on the businesspeople and business students employer(s) and future employer(s). It's in the best interest of businesspeople and business students to be aware of important international organizations so that they wouldn't appear clueless in a potential interview or meeting.

Our economy in the United States is no longer a localized one - the products and services we produce and use are part of a world economy.

Large companies and corporations now have international offices and subsidiaries, factories, research labs and manufacturing facilities all over the world.

Products that once were marked, "Made In USA" are now marked, "Assembled in USA" or "Made in - fill in the blank" or, in some cases, may be marked, "Made in Various Countries And Assembled In -fill in the blank".

A lot of these international organizations dictate codes and minimum requirements for products sold in different countries and if you are to be competitive in the world markets, you must know how to manufacture and market your products to meet these requirements.
