no it was not your fault, it was an accident, but your wife is probably very upset about the whole thing and is lashing out at you. Let her vent, she'll get over it soon enough. I am so sorry this happened to you. Cremating is a good idea, i did that with three of my cats.
Good Luck

The dog dying wasn't your fault. It was your whole family's fault. he shouldn't have been allowed to run infront of the street. But your wife isn't being very nice about it. you can't change the past. You're probably not a bad person. however, if your only judgements of what a bad husband means: drinking, drug use, wife beating or not making enough to provide entirely for a family, you do seriously need to have a talk with your wife.

First off, why would this be your fault- did you leave a gate open or throw your dog outside on purpose.
Makes no sense- even if a dog got away from you as long as you did nothing to harm the animal and it was just an accident, YOU ARE NOT AT FAULT>
Is she just so upset, that she can't help your son with His pain that she is taking it out on you. Not fair of her if thats it.
Or does this happen most of the time whenever something goes bad, if so then she needs professional help because its not you but her baggage.
God Bless

Your wife needs to get a life. This is the time she needs to be supportive as a WIFE. Not acting like a child.
Not your fault. And technically not your friends fault. The dog should have been leashed. Make sure any future dogs are leashed when outside for a walk.

i dont know the whole story but i know this ... pets die. there is no such thing as bad luck. and its good to learn about death. even if u did run blacky over... or whatever... i doubt she should be acting that way. it may be a deeper thing. she may be more connected to the pet then u think.. or perhaps shes upset about another issue and is using this to take out her anger. just try and get her to talk to u

You must be Asian, or your wife must be first generation Asian. Most Ameracans don't believe black dogs bring bad luck, or anything else brings bad luck and that her husband is bad luck and a bad person. She has other issues besides a dog, if she thinks her husband brings bad luck to a family..... sorry for you, and sorry about your dog.

I dont think it's right how you're wife is treating you, but if you're allowing her to do it, then she's going to take advantage of it. I think it's very nice what you're doing for the dog and you need to not listen to what she has to say about it. I hope things get better at home.

The whole story isn't here, so impossible to assess. I don't believe that anyone brings bad luck on others. Hopefully, feelings will calm down soon. Try to weather it.

sorry to say, if your dog was not on a leash you may be to blame. you seem to feel very badly and your wife should not be berating you, however she probably feels badly as well. tell her that it hurts your feelings that she treats you this way. if she can't have compassion for you, perhaps it is best to leave her alone until she gets over it
