I don't have much of a credit history.. My income isn't high.. Lenders obviously are extremely hesitant to lend to me.. Where can I go for a small personal loan of maybe $3,000 to $5,000.

Try your local credit union. They usually give out loans easier than banks do. Good luck.

http://www.prosper.com and similar sites. At prosper the loans are lent by individuals and they are paid back over 3 years at an agreed upon interest.
