You get this with many bible stories. Change the names around and you have the Greek and roman myths. There are similarities in most of the major modern religions also. This says to me that they are either all fake and have just changed with time, retelling, translation, whatever, or that there is something out there and all paths are equally valid.

What you just saw is a lie, no one, no one knows the day when Christ was born. Also, Zeus was a fallen angel, his son was Hercules. Hercules can be found in the history of the Jews by Josephus.

No coincidence because Jesus is real and walked the earth. Zeus is a myth of Greek mythology. He is not real and never walked the earth.

It's not a coincidence at all. When the Christians wanted to convert the Greeks and Romans, they used their idea of a god mating with a human being.

and within a few days of the celtic lord of the sun, dec 21 or 22 , which ever is solstice on a given year, they did it to more easily convert pagans, they did it with all of their holidays actually, i reccomend Joseph Campbell's book Transformation of Myth Through Time, to see who stole what story, from who. what a tangled web humans weave.

it does not matter when jesus was born or whether he was even born. what inspires me as an athiest is the teachings of jesus christ which are based on compassion and forgiveness. thats what makes the difference. and thats what makes jesus so unique.

Both jesus and hercules are mythical beings so it could be coincidence or it could be plaguarism.I lean toward plaguarism.

No, not a coincedence. The idea of a deity having a mortal child is one which has been passed from religion to religion.

Jesus walked on the earth.
Hercules is a myth--and no one ever even pretended that he was real.
There is zero connection.
