I'm not speaking against Christians, but I do want to say this..... Most Christians don't know what they are talking about. Why? Somebody told them and that is all that they think that they need to know! One must develope into that perfect reflection of God's image. And I will say this! It is not an image of a human being. That is a result of the image being development in spirit; then manifesting itself out ward!

God created us each to be a "unique" reflection of him. To see a pefect reflection of Him in yourself you have to know him personally and have a relationship with him, just like you would any person. Then you have to look in the "mirror," a.k.a. the bible. Maybe somethings are best explained from God Himself and not from Christians. Why don't you sincerely ask Him your questions. Talk to God, He can anwer your questions in a way that no one else can. He may answer through any number of ways, even through Christians that can't explain things very well.

We're not perfect reflections of him. We're dim reflections.
The meaning of "In his image" has been argued for a long time. It could mean physical appearance, but many believe it is the existence of an eternal soul or the ability to have free will. As to why he did it this way - I am not certain. Because he wanted to, I guess (that's a cop out answer I know). I suspect we'll need to know what "in his image" means before we can know why he did it that way. Good luck in your quest for knowledge.

Because most of the worlds population is not mentally ready.
God is ready to help if we are willing to learn. The power of the mind is much stronger than we believe it to be. The good will always overtake the bad, but we live in a wold that dwells on the negative. God is closer to us than our own breath, God is everything , God is everywhere, God is love. Any person who calls themselves an atheist is wrong. He must love himself, his family or something material, therefore he does believe in God, because God is love. When you see yourself in the mirror and you see ugly then that shows how your mental state is. When ever you see yourself beautiful its a sign that you live in a beautiful way.
Whenever we learn to give and not take , to forgive ourselves and then be able to forgive others, to love unconditionally and to wish all the world what we would wish for us, then humanity will be ready. May the best come your way always and may you lead a happy and healthy life.

We are not perfect because the goal of becoming a Christian is to strive for perfection like Jesus, who was the only perfect man. God helps us out by giving us free will and the hope that we may someday achieve something close to perfection.

The easiest way to understand God and Christianity is to read the Word of God aka The Bible. If you are an unbeliever, start in the New Testament in the Gospels (Mark, Luke, John, Matthew). Jesus explains most of the questions you can think of at one time or another. It's easiest if you buy a Bible that puts Jesus's words in red.

It is not up to Christians to make believers of non-Christians, only to proclaim the truth.
And therein lies your answer; God made us in his image, but he did not want a bunch of robots worshipping him, so he gave us a free will, which the first man promptly used to do things his own way, and allowing sin and death to enter the world. However, he did give us another chance through the substitutionary death on the cross by his only son, Jesus Christ.
When we accept him, our salvation is secured, but our sanctification is an ongoing process until we die and recieve our glorifed bodies, when we will again be perfect reflections again.
And I'm glad you used the word "reflections", you have made an astute theological point in your attempt to malign our faith; even in our glorified states, we can only be a reflection of his perfection, for only God is God.
Actually, the Bible itself tells us it is through the Holy Spirit that we are able to understand scripture, and it is incumbent on each of us to take that step of faith towards him, to desire to know him, that is when scriptures are opened to us. So in fact, you are describing the truth; that to non-believers, what Christians have to say is foolishness.
So you see, even when you mock, you are confirming the truth. One day you will bow your knee before Jesus Christ, I pray it is before you die and not after, when you will be doing so just prior to entering into everlasting torment.

What do you want explained? We do the best we can, but we aren't perfect as He is, and often times we fail when we try to explain things. Most of us Christians don't claim to be perfect, just forgiven. If I can answer any questions for you, I would be happy to! Have a great evening!

No we are not perfect reflections of Him, Adam was. The word of God is never understood by non-believers because you have a closed mind to it. When you are ready, the bible will reveal the truth to you, in a manner of saying, it's magic.

We are no longer perfect reflections of God because of our sins. When Man chose to sin, we lost our perfection. We can get it back through Jesus Christ, and those who are saved will be raised in perfection.
God has given us every tool needed to explain Him to ourselves and everyone else. We are all equipped with the ability to see, understand and know Him if we choose. Some choose not to.
