if the US did what some people advocate and fought a war without rules, nuked Iran and anyone else that go in their way and generally became Europes worst nightmare? Or would there be a military coup to reign in a rougue president? Or would they support that? Thoughts?

Amazing how much faith you all have in the US military

Nuclear bombs will never be used against a country that has the ability to retaliate in kind. And an invasion would never work, due to the US air and sea superiority. However, an economic war could be waged against the US quite easily if right countries formed a coalition against the US.

This is a most enjoyable query my friend. I find myself perplexed in how to answer both intelligently and succinctly. Therefore, I will go with the schtick. France, nah, too passive, they would only throw words, sticks and stones.

Germany-oh hell nein! they've been there, done that, not getting their heads shoved up their asses by us again.

Italy, well, they could use a very good weapon of mass destruction; they could feed us to death.

Greece, ha ha ha ha haha ahahahahahah, cute, look at them with their 4 little F-14's.

Russia? Oh, the big bear? Yes, some respect due, but no fear. They have to have their time to call AutoZone, or PartsPlus, and the Siberian scrapyard for completion of repairs, after a transaction from China or Cuba of needed funds.

And let us not forget the little guys: Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Czech Republic, Yugoslavia, etc. they could lump themselves together and have the brigade that looks like the Wicked Witch's from The Wizard of Oz.
**Note: To anyone and everyone of either of these nationalities, just having a bit of fun, no offense intended.

P.S. I forgot about Great Britain! Oh, nevermind.

am not so sure but siggi you REALLY need to get some degree of education hun, I have seen what is laughingly called world history over here in the USA and can see that you would not have risen above HS level else you would know JUST how offensive that comment is, you came over and helped us out, so bloody what ALL the other stuff we paid for and in fact have really only paid of our war debt to the usa in the past 10 years............remember pretty much several generations had been wiped out from WW1, let alone WW2 kicking off

Anyway I personally think it would a hue amount for the average English person to turn their back on the USA, remember we STILL have many many troops on the ground fighting YET again alongside you.

This is for siggi. Did you ever study history in school?
The whole of Europe including most of Russia was practically in ruins before the US reluctantly joined us in fighting Hitler. US corporations made huge profits from our war.
Britain fought alone against overwhelming odds until Hitler attacked Russia. It was a miracle we survived. We were being bombed every night. I remember what it was like. Don't call us lazy and don't ever claim that you saved our asses.

If the US attacked Europe, it would fight back, courageously.

And who would head the attack? France? Belgium?
Even if Europe attacked, the US wouldn't be destroyed they would. I am a European born American citizen. I know the Europeans well, all my relatives are European and the Europeans do not have the stomach for it.

Not with Bush in office, Bush has all of Europe afraid of him. If another country don't listen to Bush, he will find away to scare them some how.

no Europe would be fine with it, in fact all the nations would be fine with it everyone wants to do something about it but they just dont want to get their hands dirty. the great thing about america is we can go to war and get stuff done with people in our country protesting the war so that way other countrys are not mad at us, they are just mad at the government so everything would be A.O.K.
