.I do not discount the existence of unexplained things. I do however discount the highly detailed explanations of unexplained things. There may be intelligent non human entities that look after people. However if such entities do exist they are not connected to Jesus, 2/3 of them did not follow Satan, and Christians will not judge them as is suggested in Christianity.
I do not believe in angels. I also do not believe in Santa, The Easter Bunny, and The Tooth Fairy,
I'm not saying there is nothing behind the belief in spiritual guardians. I'm just saying that there is nothing behind the belief that we know about angels.

ANGELS IN THE BIBLE
Rev.5:11; Matt.26:53;Many thousands of angel be,
Job 38:4-7; As earth or world made they did it, see,
John 17:3,5,24;With God before world, is Jesus free,
Of Eden angels shout in joy to see all so perfectly.
They are all called morning stars, Jesus especially,
the bright and morning star Rev.22:16; so Brightly,
Eze.28:13-15; Isa.14:12-14; Job.2:1,2; Heaven to see,
Heavenly are angels but the cherub over Eden lyingly.
Became a Serpent, dragon, Satan or Lucifer, a day star,
And what will God and Jesus do about him so bad by far,
He wanted to be lifted up to rule from where they are,
So Satan is obsessed to make havoc against every star.
2Cor.4:3,4; As God of this world he blinds human minds,
To keep the truth of him hidden, and God's truth blind,
He caused all perfect to be lost, tries to hide behind,
A cloud all doubt could ever be, it is tough to define.
Jesus could have twelve legions of Angels at any time,
Jesus came as mediator, savior, to give all due pride,
He has the right to destroy Satan and death with stride,
To make all new again, and resurrect all dead to alive.
So we can count on Jesus to keep his promise as he died,
Assuring us that there is and we can have eternal life,
Just as Luke 20:34-36; the angels who do not ever die,
Perfection is for all people, heavens, earth and skies.
Heb.2:9,14,16; 9:14,15; 1Cor.15:22-28;51-53; Rev.21:1-5;
Angels did sin, Jude 6; 2Pet.2:4; more than we realize,
1Cor.6:2,3; Angels face a judgement day before all eyes,
Heb.9:27; 2Cor.5:10 Man judged by God's word is how wise,
John 12:47,48;Knowing his word makes all be in Paradise.
Rev.2:7; Luke 23:43; 2Cor.12:4; For man and angel so fine,
Rev.12:6-11,12,14,17; Don't forget about Michael so devine,
Satan is on footstool earth and enemy of Jesus is confined,
Soon Jesus can reign 1000 years taking us to God so kind.
Rev.20:1-6,12,13; 1Cor,2:9; Rev.21:1-5,9,10,21-27; Gal.4:26;
ELECT Mark 13:27; John 6:39,40,44; 1Thes.4:15-17 [ end ];

nope - can't prove they exist or even show any tangible evidence, nor make predictions that require their existance and have those predictions come out true
suspect most people believe or disbelieve axiomatically, however
still wonder a bit about guardian angels - seems like I've been lucky to stay alive with all my bits still attached
