Since I have stopped working I notice a lot of women who drop their kids off at school don't look like they have bothered taking a shower and run around in crappy clothes all day. Why?

For the record.......... I have only been unemployeed for 6 weeks, I am not FAT, I do have children, a LARGE house to clean and a husband who can't find the bathroom in our house if I don't tell him where it is located. I have NEVER left my house without taking a shower, dressing, putting on makeup and fixing my hair and I NEVER wear t-shirts and sweat pants in public or in the privacy of my own home because if I did my husband would leave me for someone who takes care of themselves.

It's nice to keep your appearance up, but sometimes it's overwhelming raising kids. Many women find they have to put themselves on the back burner for awhile in order to take care of the kids. It's hard to coordinate everything, keep all the order in the house, and do a good job raising your kids, let alone look "beautiful" all the time. Little kids sometimes won't even let you have a moment to yourself in the bathroom! I have met numerous women who look great all the time, but they are self-centered and really crummy mothers. If there's a choice between the two, I vote for those women who run around in crappy clothes all day as the better person.

When women get comfortable in a relationship they don't feel the need to get all dolled up,Since they aren't looking for any one else they see no need.and some women can only see a beauty queen in the mirror no matter what everyone else sees. And then you have those who just don't care, and some may be they had a bad day or week or what ever,so there are many different reasons.and life is so busy now who has the time unless you are going somewhere important. But I have learned the hard way to not leave the house looking any way you wouldn't want people to really see you.I got pulled over one morning with no bra on in my house shoes hair all a mess and the cop asked me to get out of the car,was near my kids school and all their friends seen me so now even though I don't get all fixed up to run down the road or to the store,I do atleast make sure I am decent.

Hmmm, some mommies work really late and sleep until the last minute before they have to get there kids up and off to school. I never showered before taking my son to school because I was too tired because I worked so late. But I can't answer the question about running around ALL DAY in crappy clothes. Possibly depression, lack of money, working too much to do laundry, 4 kids and a hubby to feed, alcoholism, drugs?

Lets see you wake up at 5a, cook breakfast for the entire family, bathe and dress everyone, even the husband cuz he doesnt know crap about what matches, get books and bags together for the kids and go to 2 different schools at 2 different ends of the city everyday for 18 years and see how hot you look, not to mention how much you actually give a **** once your done.

This is why I won't ever have kids. I don't want to end up another fat, unkempt, unclean slob that others could make an example of. At least they could take a shower and wear clean clothes.

I'm dropping my kids off at school, I look like he!! froze over!

It's just that its usually because all moring I'm cooking and getting 3 boys ready for school and fed properly and get all the missing shoes found, and double knots- unknotted (sacrifiing good nails), then they miss the bus, when I was ready to get in the shower..so now I have to throw a turban on my head or scarf and a robe and a jacket and race them off to school. There I see some unemployed FAT @$$ like you looking at me shaking his head, as IF I gave a watery sh!t what he thinks!

As if this is a women-only sort of problem? You haven't seen the guys in sweat pants and stained, torn t-shirts? Some people just don't put the focus on themselves, or perhaps they just aren't morning people, or are just having a bad day.

HUH? when you are a mother the most important thing becomes your kids, women still have it going on especially moms, they just know sacrifices have to made for their children, I have no children but do the work full time and school full time and if I cna catch some extra Z's and sacrifice a day of sweat pants then I am going to, big hugs

once you have kids your priorities change.looking good is not #1 on their list.like my mom is always busy cleaning cooking and taking care of my lil brother that she doesnt have all the time in the world to pamper herself.now imagine doin all that and having to work.plus in the morning moms are busy getting their kids ready that they just grab anything to wear and make sure their kid gets to the bus on time.some moms also are depressed or have low self-esteems so they dont bother with their appearance. They might feel like they're getting old anyways so why bother.there are alot of reasons why people look like crap try not to judge them.

coz to them nobody would bother to look at them anyway. and, most of the time comfort is the first and foremost reason why the prefer to wear indoor clothes outside of the house.. also, they'd think it's a waste of time to fix ones self up if the place their going to is just around the corner..
