What does the USA stand for? Growing up I was taught it was for a better place and a better place for the world; for the World to look at and find what is right and wrong; for peace! Now it's just like the other place, a place to forget and never remember!

Just to add one more detail to add and ask; What country puts their Border Patrol Guards up on charges for shooting a suspected drug smuggler(750lbs) in the buttocks and yet give this person immunity to prosecute the two Border Patrol Guards. Not to mention the rights of illegals have more Health Care than your own citizens! So for you who have or want to persecute me for writing this, it's your Tax Dollar!

I am English. In my opinion America sees itself as the defender of what it calls the free world. In fact it appears to think that it rules the world. Its obsession with capitalism is almost as bad as the muslim fundamentalists view that the world belongs to the muslims.America has entered many conflicts and usually comes out of them with its tail between its legs and without achieving any long standing settlement. America cares only for itself and is full of self interest which probably explains why America is detested throughout the world. It went to war with Iraq purely and simply over oil. There was never any concern for the ordinary Iraqi people. I would not be proud to be American at the present time. My concern is that America is now dragging the United Kingdom down to its level and we will have to face the consequences of what has been done.

First of all I'm proud to be a citizen of the United States. While their may be some problems in the United States who does not have them, but I much rather live in the USA than anywhere else.
And the problems that we have existed long before the President.
And as far as the President I think he has done a wonderful job.
There are a lot of Bush haters out there and whatever he does its not going to be right.
And as far as you wanting to forget and never remember go live in Iraq I bet you will be begging to come back.

On a comparative basis, measured against other countries, America fares very well on most scales, but of course, it is not Utopia and political mistakes are made.

Despite theses mistakes America continues to dominate the political world simply because it refuses to be second best. It is competitive in its desire to be the best.

As frightening as the current world situation is just imagine what things would be like without America as the dominant country. I doubt very much if you could post the very question that you did.

Freedom is what America stands for.

The United States wrote laws to maintain order, a Constitution to maintain freedom, and rights, and have a government that is suppose to be for the people. In natuality the US is only for that one thing, and that is for that mighty dollar. Without that then you will have bitter issues. The fact of the matter is you have to stop worrying about what the American people think, and how high they hold there heads, because it's alot of unjust, and cruelty in the world today. You have to live for you, and not for other people. American non American whatever. At one point in history half of America had slaves for many years, and murdered people for the color of their skin. There is no justification in that. America is suppose to be the land of the free, and the home of the brave. There's nothing we can do to change history, but we have it a lot better than most countries. Live for you, and yours, and make life enjoyable for yourself. Yes it sucks knowing that we have homeless, ailing, and people that suffer, but life is sought of what you make it. So enjoy your life.

they cant. we have allowed another bush in the office and peace is out the window this country was supposed to stand for freedom giving others who were not liberalized a chance to come here and get new starts now we are fighting with other countries and we have no way of knowing who is friend or foe. I believe it comes from within no one would have been able to penetrate us with some one letting them in

Considering that, since we suffered that heinous attack on 9/11, we have made much progress, I don't know what your problem is. I'm not sure what country you live in. Here in this country, we can be darn proud of our many accomplishments. Not only have we dug our selves out from under that ClintaxandGore us recession of 99/01 and the down turn as a result of 9/11, but now have an economy most countries envy. Thanks to a President whom has been one of the best (if not THE best-history will judge him later) Commander-in-chiefs, with an all volunteer military, in the history of our country. Having liberated over 50 million people and started two countries on their way to breaking their bonds of tyranny, we have gained several new allies in the process. We have quit playing the role of the paper tiger of the 90's and are now (with the committed help of many other countries) carrying the fight for freedom and peace to the fascists terrorists, where ever they hide.
Though we have captured or killed many of their top leaders as well as hundreds of their misguided minions, we have not suffered any additional attacks here. Several have been thwarted though. As President Bush first told us, there were going to be things that we would see on TV or read in the press, but there were going to be things that we would not see or read. True, a left leaning media and those guilty of sudition and treason with their "leaks" and programs to belittle our President and his highly dedicated troops, with lies, distortions and defimations, have given us a poor view to the rest of the world. However, there are far more of us that will proudly fly our country's flag tomorrow.

I am currently involved in a program that will enable a force field along our Southern Border. It will be impenetrable. No need for that wall, the real Mc Coy is on the way.

the thing to remember is that america is a lot better than other countries in most ways.

there are problems with every system, but all facts considered, america is the place to be.

if you dont want to believe this, go to another country for a while and try to have the same freedoms that you have here. i guarantee youll be wanting to come home as fast as you can.

I'm sure that if most of us knew that raising hell along our border would keep people from coming here, we would have done it a long time ago.

America has enough problems just trying to live with our rambunctious political parties. We don't need more that is caused by illegal and legal immigration.

If the problems we have is enough to keep people from other countries from coming here, please tell us what will cause that so we can keep doing it.

Surely, you have some point to this. Why should we not hold our heads high? At least there are thousands of Mexicans that want to come here. What needs to be justified? From the tone of your question, You'll probably be leaving tomorrow or the next day so you can forget & never remember. Adios!
