My 11 yrs old golden passed last night at home in my lap, before I could do anything. My exs (2 of them) who are still very good friends of mine and knew her, called and really felt sad for me and listened to me crying. I called my BF of 2 mths asked if he can come or I can go over since I really need some shoulder to cry on. He said he is busy until late tonight..however he said a few thing like, she was old, better for her to not be in pain, etc..they 're truth but no sympathy or even said that he is sorry for me at all. He even asked if I ever lost pet before. Our conversation were so dead air..Is he just cold or am I too sad to think straight? Would you cancel your plan(weekend plan) to be with your GF/BF in this kind of situation?

I feel for you I have two dogs and I don't know what I would do if I would lose one of them its hard to imagine such a thing. You are not to sad to think straight your bf sounds like a bit of a prick if I were you I would break it off with him. T o have a dog for 11 yrs and have it pass a way it heart wrenching your two exes I give them props for sympathizing with you to lose a pet is like losing a child for a lot of people I'm like this I think of my pets as my kids so does my wife. I would have asked your bf what was he doing that he couldn't comfort his gf in this time of need ie is he faithful?
you mentioned you could go to his place and he brushed you off I would say RED FLAG?
I'm sorry for your loss and send you my condolences I believe
take a few months and then find a new dog. Yeah and tell the other selfish jerk to hit the road because you deserve someone who can be there for you when you need a shoulder to cry on man what a jerk that just pisses me off.. YOU GO GIRL!

Tha was rather cold of him, he sounds like a unfeeling jerk. He should have been there for u in ur time of need but I guess now u know how he can be under this kind of thing. Now u need to aks him why he was so cold about it.

But maybe he's not the kind of person who knows how to comfort some1 because he was never taught, or he may have lost a pet and hit would have made he think about the pet he lost and he got scared.

But I still think he should have been more feeling about it since u did reach out.

i'm so sorry on your loss. do no longer enable every person make you sense you haven't any longer have been given the astonishing to grieve the lack of such an important being on your life. some people don't comprehend the deep bond which could exist between a puppy and its proprietor...even some people who've had pets of their lives. If I weren't feeling sufficient compassion and help coming my way from a BF of purely 2 months, I specific does not provide him lots of my time at certainly one of those time, so I doubt i could be spending a weekend with him...yet i does not write him off fullyyt, the two... My heart is going out to you, expensive...yet i watch for the day once you will invite yet another doggie into your life and your heart...there are loads of them accessible who ought to apply somebody such as you to love them...and fur absorbs all varieties of tears...

he probably just isn't good at comforting people; I know because I'm awful at it, and those are the kinds of things I'd say to someone. he probably thinks that by saying things like "it's better that she's not in pain" he's helping you by being logical.

sorry about your dog, though. he's probably never had a dog, has he?
