First ask your hairdresser if a toner on the yellow bits is appropriate. If you are obviously two colors she should do it for free. She should never have let you leave the salon 2 different colors. Especially without explaining to you why it may have had to be that way (too damaged to continue??)
If the reason she didn't continue doing any services on your hair is because she believes your hair to be too fragile or damaged right now, try using a shampoo called "Shimmering Lights". It is a toning shampoo. It looks purple when you squirt it out. It will do the same thing as a toner but won't do further damage to your hair...which is something you mays need to avoid right now.
Purple colored shampoos will "neutralize" the yellow in your hair and make it a more creamy color. Do not use it everytime you shampoo. Use it everyother time.
In case you are wondering how toners and colored shampoos work...it is because colors opposite each other on the color wheel cancel out each other. (yellow is across from purple)The reason you want to be careful about using it too much is because you say that some of the hair is the correct color. I am betting the yellow is at the scalp. If you use the colored shampoo everyday you could turn the light blonde hair lavendar. If it is just at the scalp try putting conditioner on the ends and shampooing the scalp with the Shimmering lights. Let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse the whole thing out quickly...this will prevent the blonde you like from grabbing the color in the shampoo.
Good luck

Ahh, this happened to me before, except my friend did an ash color and my hair turned multi colors including green.. just in time for my surprise grad party... lol
Wait a few days before putting more color into it so your hair doesnt split. Call your hair dresser and ask her if a toner is something she can put in. This will tone down the yellow hue making it more natural looking. Good luck!!!

use a shampoo with a blue tint to it. This is for blonde, white, or highlighted hair. try Silver Shine Shampoo by Regis, or Simply Silver Shampoo by Nexxus. the blue tint will not turn your hair blue, it neutralizes the yellow tones in your hair, helping to show the brighter color.

Yes - tappys is right. Ask about the toner option. And by the way, I feel your pain. No matter what box color I used, it came out more yellow than I wanted. Good luck, fellow blondie!

Don’t dye your hair anymore. That’ll fix it right up.
