I wanna get a second degree but in a different field.?

I'm about to finish my first BS in Information Technology but I want to get a second degree in some kind of science field. Anyone know if credits from the first degree count towards the second degree? Do I have to start a brand new program and start from zero or do I get anything from the fact i'll already have a degree even though its in a different field.

Why not just go for a double major instead of a whole different degree? Check with an academic advisor for your best options.
