We are blinded by the "apparent" reality of our daily lives. It is quite hard to accept that this reality is a manifestation of "Love," when so much of it is filth and hardship and misery and death. That is why the Pure Land buddhists hope to reincarnate into an "easier" world where the lessons of truth are more easily learned because they would be so much more obvious there. This world that we live in at present doesn't really produce enough evidence for most to believe in anything beyond it. So, for most, life is, as Hobbes said, "nasty, brutish, and short."
One can easily accept the principle of "all is impermanent and without self," until we lose someone or something we love...or until someone deliberately hurts us. It is the sheer hurt of this world that makes the realization of love so difficult.

I have no problem looking in the mirror or sleeping or meditating.I just live in the world and here the only obvious is the blindfolds worn by Christians so they can't see how flaming stupid they are. If its so obvious why can't it be seen? A simple answer not one that makes string theory look easy to understand.

HE loves me. It's not HIS love that's the issue. People have other issues in their lives that are important to them as well as GOD's love. We're human and have needs. It doesn't hurt to look in the mirror either, I haven't done anything to be ashamed of or to hide from. HE knows this and I trust HIM.I only hope others can say the same of themselves everyday as I can.....I pray for their wellbeing........peace

I think it's because we are such spoiled kids.
