My kitty was injured a week ago in an accident, and is mostly healed except he keeps picking at this scab between his eyes (where the top of his nose is). I'm keeping him indoors right now. What can I do to stop it so he heals?

It is actually good that there is no scab, since anything scabbed over can be become infected. Put antibiotic ointment on it periodically and you'll be good to go.

Is it swollen? If it is you need to drain it, that means scratch it, and drain the pus, then disenfect it with a q-tip and peroxyde making sure none of it goes into kitty's eyes. Then you have to put some ophtalmological antibiotic cream on it. Make sure its the ophtalmological stuff because the wound is close to kitty's eyes. Pharmacists can sell it without a prescription, but its not on the shelves, you have to ask the pharmacist.
If Kitty's condition does'nt improve within a coupleof days (swelling, loss of appetite) consult a vet ASAP! You are right to keep him indoors for another while longer.

Yes it is not a problem. When Cats are injured, the closed wound is very likely to get infected, so it is best to keep it open, cleaned with hydrogen peroxide, and put a triple antibiotic on it.

I know Cats love to be outside, but please think about keeping Him in. I am a Cat owner, or renter, (ha), for many years, and have just now found out about terrible viruses that are out there. Mainly FIP, no vaccine, no treatment, no cure.

God Bless, and Best Wishes

If its mostly healed - there is no sign of infection and he's picking at it not allowing it to dry up - you can place an E-collar (elizabethian collar) around his neck for a couple of days till it dries up. But you will need to dress the wound to make sure it doesnt get infected. You probably can get the collars at the vet / petshop - or make one yourself using some cardboard. It should look like your cat's wearing a lampshade ...:-). Hope this helps.

I am not sure if this would help or just make it worse but maybe you should take him to the vet and have him declawed.
